Phillipe Coutinho FPL Replacements – Fantasy Premier League Tips

If, like so many Liverpool fans and fantasy football aficionados at the weekend, you have been nervously awaiting the results of a certain Phillipe Coutinho’s scans, then you will by now be crying behind the sofa (Liverpool fans) or scouting the rest of the league for a replacement for the Little Magician until January.

So, who to pick? Let’s take a look at your options for replacing Phillipe Coutinho:

The like-for-like: Adam Lallana

Liverpool have struggled to create chances in recent weeks, even with Coutinho in the side, and it has largely been down to Lallana’s absence. Injured on international duty with England, Lallana is fast approaching full fitness and is being touted to be included at the weekend. Given Coutinho’s absence, it is likely that he will play an integral role on his return, and at £7.1million, it’s worth getting him in whilst others bide their time.

The form player: Pedro

The Chelsea juggernaut just keeps rolling on at the moment, built largely on the strength of Conte’s 3 man brick wall of a defence. Costa is in blistering form without seeming to break a sweat, but Spaniard Pedro has been in scintillating form. Chelsea have Manchester City at the weekend, but Pedro has proven that he can turn it on in the big games, like he did against Tottenham at the weekend. After that, Chelsea’s favourable run of matches includes West Brom, Sunderland and Crystal Palace. £7.3million, why not?

The risk: Joshua Sims

Yes, he’s only played one game. Yes, the FPL websites had to scramble to get him on their websites when he astonishingly registered 6 points. But when has the incredible Southampton academy let us down before? Palace, Middlesbrough, Stoke and Bournemouth are up next for the Saints, giving the 19 year an ideal opportunity to get some more game time experience. And, let’s face it, at £4.5million, you can at the very least save up some money to get that Aguero/Costa front 2 …

The saviour: Leroy Fer

There are no words to describe Swansea against Crystal Palace, but it somehow culminated in American Lex Luther-lookalike Bob Bradley registering his first Swansea win. Largely orchestrated by Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente, £5.0million Leroy Fer helped to seal the points as well. Fer scored his 5th and 6th goals of the season, and with games against an out of form Tottenham, Sunderland, West Brom and Middlesbrough to come, expect Fer to feature heavily for the Swans.
