Wolves – Fantasy Football potential – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Wolves have claimed the Championship title and bounce back into the Premier League. Their success has been achieved through excellent buys, consistency and the tactics of their manager, Nuno Espirito Santo. Reaching an impressive 99 points, winning 30 out of 46 games and only losing 7 across the whole season, Wolves are certainly an exciting addition to the top flight.

So, who have been Wolves’ main performers this season, and who are the one’s to watch out for next season?

Forwards

It was another impressive season from Diogo Jota who can play the majority of the attacking roles. That said, the Portuguese man came out Wolves’ top scorer with 17 goals last season, whilst he also assisted 5. His playmaking and composure throughout the season was key to Wolves’ success. Also, at 21 years old, it wouldn’t be a surprise if other clubs swooped in for this guy. Cavaleiro came out with the 2nd highest assist tally for Wolves this season with 12, but also had a decent pair of shooting boots, scoring 9 goals. Used 11 times from the bench, he was the 2nd most rotated attacking role player in the squad, but still managed to make an impression. Finally, the Brazilian Leo Bonatini. A solid signing for Wolves and will most definitely be competing for a starting position in the Premier League. At 24 years old Leo should be hitting his prime form when the season kicks off and if he can kick on from his 12 goals and 5 assists from the Championship, he could be another potential player for starting squads, especially as a third striker.

Midfielders

The main man in the middle of the park is Ruben Neves. The Portuguese midfielder surprised everyone signing for Wolves at the start of the season as he is a very exciting prospect in world football. At just 21 years of age, he bossed the Championship in every aspect. Scoring 6 goals and 1 assist from a defensive midfield position is decent. However, his passing percentage of 84.9% from 42 appearances allowed this team to play a different style of football than other Championship clubs.

Defenders

Willy Boly is a French centre back, 27-years-old and was an absolute unit for Wolves last season. Making 36 appearances in the back line, he managed to contribute going forward with 3 goals and 2 assists while maintaining good discipline, only being booked 2 times across the season. Boly has also been credited with the most MOTM awards with 8. Barry Douglas is a versatile left wing back and had an excellent season in the Championship making 38 appearances. In these appearances he provided a solid return of 5 goals and 14 assists which saw him come out on top in the squad for assists. This could be a potential cheap full back to get in your starting FPL squads.

Wolves will certainly be in for a fight to keep their star players from this season at the club. Brief links of Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota to other top-flight teams such as Liverpool will prove a test of loyalty to the club. However, if they do keep most of the squad they will be an exciting, attacking team to watch.
