Fantasy Football Potential – Lukasz Fabianski

West Ham have made the signing of Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski for around £7 million. The 33 year old joins the Hammers as Joe Hart leaves after his disappointing loan spell with the London club.

Fabianski has been a brilliant keeper for Swansea over a couple of seasons and originally joined the Swans on a free transfer from Arsenal. For Poland, he has registered 46 caps and that would most certainly be more if it wasn’t for another former Arsenal player, Wojciech Szczesny, who has 37 himself.

Here’s what Fabianski had to say on his move:

“West Ham is a massive club so I’m really happy to be joining at such an exciting time here. I will do my best on and off the pitch to help the team to achieve the best results possible and can’t wait to start this new chapter of my career”

Fantasy Premier League Potential (4.5m)

Fabianski has been a fantastic option for Fantasy Premier League managers for years now and looks tempting yet again this campaign. He’s been generously priced at £4.5m and is arguably now at a better club. He recorded 157 points last season making him the third best keeper on the game.

Within those 157 points, 14 of them came through bonus points which is such a huge part of FPL and Fabianski is clearly a bonus point magnet. As well as making many saves from open play, Fabianski also made three saves from penalties which is amazing for FPL managers alike.

West Ham’s first five fixtures are as follows: Liverpool (A), Bournemouth (H), Arsenal (A), Wolves (H) and Everton (A). It’s a tough start for West Ham and it doesn’t get any easier going into October but Fabianski will be making loads of saves in these games and collecting a vast amount of points.
