Hong Wan – Fantasy Football Potential

Wolves have signed Yoevil academy midfielder Hong Wan. At just 18, Hong Wan has signed a two year deal and has had the following to say about his move:

“It’s a great opportunity and I’m very grateful to have been given a chance to be at such a great club. We’ve all seen how well Wolves have played this season, not just the first-team but the under-23s as well, and it’s certainly a club that’s on the rise. It’s a great feeling to be part of it.”

Hong Wan is highly thought of, having been the captain of Yeovil Town’s U-18’s, whilst his former coach at Charlton also said:

“Without a doubt the best number four I have had the pleasure in developing”

Player History

Hong Wan started his career at League One side Charlton Athletic as he spent nearly 10 years progressing through the academy teams. However, when he was 16 he switched to Yeovil, eventually becoming the U-18’s captain. That said he also got the opportunity to spend a short time with Luton Town last season.

Fantasy Football Potential

Hong is a signing for the future and is likely to join the academy teams, therefore is highly unlikely to feature in the starting XI for Wolves. Wolves academy chief Scott Sellars said:

“With every player we look at bringing in to the academy, first and foremost they must have the ability.

That said, he has joined a club on the rise and will no doubt be one to keep an eye on for the future!
