Pedro Neto – Fantasy Football Potential

Wolves have announced the signing of Pedro Neto from Lazio on a long term deal. Neto has been signed alongside teammate Jordao for a combined fee believed to be around £18 million.

Here’ what Wolves’ sporting director has had to say about the signings:

“They’re two very talented individuals in positions we’re keen to add to. But with both Pedro and Bruno it’s more about their potential for the future. We see signing young talent as a way forward; for example, Morgan Gibbs-White from the Academy, several other young players from the Academy who have been in the first-team recently, and Ruben Vinagre, who we signed at a very young age. We think these two guys are right up there at that level and have both got high potential to be successful here at Wolves.”

Player History

Neto started his career at the youth academy of Vianese, before moving to Braga’s academy at the age of just 13. The young forward progressed through the ranks at Braga, making his first team debut at the age of 17, also scoring a goal in the game against Nacional.

In 2017, Neto joined Lazio on loan, but he struggled to get any game time in the senior side, making just 4 appearances, playing 42 minutes of Serie A football.

Internationally, Neto has featured on a number of occasions for the Portuguese youth levels from under-17’s through to the under-20’s, but is yet to make a senior appearance.

Fantasy Football Potential

Pedro Neto will be linking up with the Wolves under-23’s this season, so it will be unlikely that we will see the youngster in the Premier League this season. That said, Wolves are looking to expand on their squad due to the pressures of what will hopefully be a long Europa League campaign and therefore we could see more rotation this season with the under-23’s getting more of a look in.
