Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 17 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

It was a tough week for our captaincy analysis as 3 of the picks were hit by injury or rotation. That said, we move swiftly onto gameweek 17, but before we do, here’s how last week’s captaincy analysis did:

1.Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 5 points
2.Harry Kane – 1 point
3. Richarlison – 7 points
Differential – Lucas Perez – 1 point
Gamble – Leroy Sane – 1 point

Now onto this week’s picks…

1.Harry Kane (BUR)

I wasn’t active on Saturday for Spurs’ match against Leicester, but I was surprised to hear that he never started the game. I even said last week that in the four years I’ve seen him play, I can’t remember the last time he was rested! Spurs qualified for the Champions League with a draw against Barcelona, with Kane grabbing the assist that sent them through to the knockout stages. If he starts this week, he’s got a home game against Burnley coming up, which surely means that he’ll get on the scoresheet, especially considering how poor they have been this season.

2. Leroy Sane (EVE)

Every win for City now is a must-win, because I genuinely cannot see Liverpool losing all season. I hope they will, but I can see it being ‘their year’, and believe me, that’s very hard to type. City play Everton this week, and looked a bit shaky in the Champions League, conceding a penalty early on before eventually winning 2-1 thanks to this man. Sane has never scored against Everton, and in fact, other than a 3-1 win last year, City generally have a poor record against Everton, winning only once in the league since 2015. Sane, however, has been in fine form, scoring 4 and assisting 4 in 5 games now. Can he extend that tally?

3. Felipe Anderson (FUL)

I do like the look of Felipe Anderson, I must admit. It took him a while to settle into the league, however, he looks a really good player for West Ham, scoring and assisting in his last game. He’s now owned by 16% and looks to be everyone’s replacement for Arnie. They take on Fulham away next week, a team still waiting for their first clean sheet this season, so can Anderson continue his fine form?

Differential – Diogo Jota (BOU)

Don’t tell FPL_Fly about this one! He was in my squad for gameweek 1 before I got rid of him for Fraser, which is probably the best decision I’ve made all season! Jota is now starting to get into a bit of form, scoring 2 goals and assisting once in the last 2 games. He plays Bournemouth next week, and Wolves will be looking to continue their winning streak, and will hope that Jota is the man who can carry them to the top 6!

Gamble – Mohamed Salah (MUN)

Very rarely is a player who just scored a hat-trick then considered a gamble, especially as he even scored in the Champions League midweek as well! Liverpool are now top of the league and still unbeaten, however they take on Man United next week, probably the weirdest team in the league I think. They don’t look good at all, and yet, don’t be surprised if they managed to sneak a 0-0 in against Liverpool!
