Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 23 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Last week saw the majority of big hitters blank, which was reflected in our captaincy analysis results, as Alexis Sanchez was really the only performer. Before we look at this gameweek’s FPL captaincy picks, here’s how last week’s selections did:

1. Eden Hazard – 3 points
2. Alexis Sanchez – 8 points
3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 2 points
Differential – Romelu Lukaku – 2 points
Gamble – Peter Crouch – 2 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Alexis Sanchez (WAT)

At the minute, Alexis has the most points of any FPL player with 162, beating the next player behind him by 30 points. With 15 goals and 8 assists all season, he’s arguably been the most ‘must-have’ player this season, and with the next game being Watford, I think he’ll add to his magnificent goal scoring record, especially considering Watford have only kept one clean sheet in 11 GW’s. Arsenal scored 5 in the cup, with Alexis assisting twice, so can he better that on Tuesday?

2. Harry Kane (SUN)

Possibly player of the month for January, Harry Kane has been in magnificent form for the last few GW’s, scoring 5 and assisting twice in only 4 games. An away game at Sunderland is ideal to add to that tally, especially as Sunderland are missing a lot of key men, and have been in horrific form defensively. Spurs should annihilate Sunderland, and surely Kane can get on that scoresheet!

3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (HUL)

The second highest top scorer blanked last gameweek for only the second time in 12 GW’s, an incredible record for the Swedish striker. He’s scored the second highest amount of points in FPL this season, and with 6 goals in 6 games, he could be a perfect captain choice when United play Hull on Tuesday.

Differential – Tom Davies (STK)

Many will be thinking “who?!” but the 18 year old from Merseyside has burst onto the scene at Everton, starting, and playing the full 90 minutes for 3 GW’s in a row, scoring 1 and assisting 2. Owned by only 2.1%, he could be a solid, cheap 5th choice midfielder, priced at only 4.4 million. An away game at Stoke is always hard, but the lad is full of confidence and might be able to add to his impressive record on Wednesday.

Gamble – Diego Costa (LIV)

He punished several thousand FPL managers who got rid of him by scoring against Hull last week, but even despite LFC’s poor form, they are always up for the big games. They have an impressive record against the top 7 teams in the league, and will prove to be a tough match for Chelsea, so can Costa manage to find a way past the Liverpool defence, and grab a goal?
