Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 27 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

This week see’s a blank gameweek as everyone looks to maximise their points in the up coming double gameweeks, using their transfers for those weeks rather than the gameweek this weekend. That said, we still have gameweek 27 and before we look at who you should captain, here’s how last weeks picks did:

1. Mohaed Salah – 8 points
2.  Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang – 0 points
3. Paul Pogba – 16 points
Differential –  Joao Moutinho – 2 points
Gamble – Sergio Aguero – 17 points

Now onto this week’s selections:

1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (SOU)

It’s a blank gameweek this week, meaning that the choice of players to choose for captaincy is a lot slimmer with Manchester City not playing. With Manchester United playing Liverpool too, there isn’t actually much to choose from, however thankfully, Aubameyang could save the day. The Arsenal forward has scored 15 goals this season and assisted 6, and despite missing the last game due to illness, a home game to Southampton looks like a favourable fixture on paper.

2. Christian Eriksen (BUR)

Spurs have won every single league game without Kane since his injury, surprising everyone as we all thought they’d collapse! Eriksen and Son in particular have been brilliant in his absence, with the former getting 13 points last week from a goal and an assist, being unlucky not to have more too. They take on Burnley who have been in good form with the return of Tom Heaton, and look much better defensively. If Spurs want to stay in the title race, they’ll need to pick up points against these sorts of teams, and Eriksen is the man who can inspire them to do so!

3. Raul Jimenez (BOU)

It was a toss-up between Jimenez and Jota, however I’ve opted for the Mexican as the third captaincy option. He blanked last week but his 9 goals and 7 assists cannot be forgotten, especially in a week where there are very few decent options available to choose from. He’s owned by 32% of FPL managers and will be a popular captaincy choice. He will no doubt have chances to score against Bournemouth, who have only kept 2 clean sheets since GW11.

Differential – Ashley Barnes (TOT)

I don’t often pick two players who play against each other, however I had to pick Barnes as the differential pick. He’s scored in 3 consecutive games now and is only owned by 1% of FPL managers. They do play Tottenham, which will be a tough game, but Barnes and Burnley’s form as of late has definitely put the thought into my many FPL minds, considering how cheap he is!

Gamble – Mohamed Salah (MUN)

This again was a toss-up, this time between Pogba and Salah, and honestly I have no idea how this one will pan out. I’ve spoken to a few Manchester United fans and all of them said that they’d prefer Manchester City to win the league than Liverpool, so I’d assume the fans should be right up for this one. They’ve been terrific under Ole since he took over, and they did very well against Chelsea in the Cup, with Liverpool struggling to break down Bayern a few days later. It’s a huge gamble considering Salah’s record against the Top 6, but in a week of few options, I think he’ll still be a popular captaincy selection.
