Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 28 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 27 saw our first double gameweek, and now this week we see only 4 fixtures! We hope you have planned well and it will be very important to get your captaincy selection correct this week.

Before we carry on with this captaincy analysis, here’s how last week’s picks did:

1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic  – -1 point
2. Sergio Aguero – 9 points
3. Diego Costa – 9 points
Differential – Manolo Gabbiadini – 5 points
Gamble – Harry Kane – 13 points

Yes, Zlatan scored -1. Who could have predicted that? (and to be honest he should have scored less by seeing a red!). Anyhow, onwards and upwards. Here’s this week’s picks:

1. Romelu Lukaku (WBA)

Lukaku has been on fire recently, scoring 6 goals in 4 games. He’s been scoring plenty of them at home and with a game at Goodison Park against West Brom this weekend, a stadium that has seen Everton win every single game in 2017, Lukaku will surely get on the scoresheet against the Baggies! He’s bagged 43 points in 4 home games in 2017, an incredible record that will surely be added to this weekend. Will definitely be the most popular choice for captaincy so if you want to maintain a healthy rank, play safe and captain Lukaku.

2. Sadio Mane (BUR)

Another player on fire at home this season is Sadio Mane, scoring 29 points in two games at Anfield against none other than Arsenal and Spurs! Liverpool face a team with the worst record away from home, Burnley, so a goal for Mane is more or less nailed one. With Mane being in fantastic form, you can’t see him not getting at least one against Sean Dyche’s men!

3. Gylfi Sigurdsson (HUL)

Would you believe that Sigurdsson has only blanked ONCE since GW19? It’s an incredible record for the Icelandic midfielder, who’s form has completely changed since the arrival of Paul Clement. An away game to Hull will surely see Sigurdsson add to his impressive tally, and with Fernando Llorente also in fantastic form, you can bank on Siggy getting at least a goal or an assist this weekend!

Differential – Josh King (WHU)

I tweeted weeks ago about the Norwegian, but only now is he starting to get a bit of recognition. First off, he’s only 5.5m, a very cheap option for a player guaranteed to start. Secondly, he’s listed as a midfielder, and he’s been playing up front in the last few weeks! Finally, he’s scored 5 goals in 6 games for Bournemouth, and with a home game coming up against West Ham, he’s definitely one to consider, especially considering he is only owned by 3.5%!

Gamble – Gareth McAuley (EVE)

It shows how poor the GW looks destined to be seeing as McAuley is the gamble. However, as many know, he has been a saint in FPL this season scoring 6 goals, including one against Everton in the reverse fixture! He has two (controversial) goals in the last 3 games, and with Everton leaky against Bournemouth, don’t write off McAuley just yet!
