Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 29 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Last week we only had 4 Premier League fixtures and our captaincy analysis managed to pick the highest scorer of the week, Josh King (18)! Let’s hope our FPL picks are just as good this week.

Before we look at this week’s captaincy picks, here’s how last week’s captaincy analysis did:

1. Romelu Lukaku – 12 points
2. Sadio Mane – 2 points
3. Gylfi Sigurdsson – 7 points
Differential – Josh King – 18 points
Gamble – Gareth McAuley – 1 point

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Romelu Lukaku (HUL)

In 2017, Lukaku has a fantastic record of scoring in every single home game for Everton. He is the current top scorer in the Premier League and he’s playing a team who have only kept 3 clean sheets all season, so you’d be mad not to consider the Belgian for captaincy this week! He’s scored 7 goals in his last 5 games and I think he’ll add to that tally this weekend! Definitely one to captain, especially since his ownership is now over 52%!

2. Alexis Sanchez (WBA)

The only player to have been involved in more goals than Lukaku is Alexis Sanchez. He has only blanked twice since GW12 and has got 5 goals and 3 assists in his last 7 games for Arsenal. This weekend, Arsenal take on West Brom, a team who were defensively poor last week against Everton and if they don’t improve, Sanchez could have a field day on Saturday! He is number two this week as one of the teams he blanked against was West Brom, so bear that in mind!

3. Eden Hazard (STK)

Hazard, in my opinion, is one of the best players in the league. He was absolutely fantastic against Man United in the cup and the only thing he needs to add to his game, I think, is to be more consistent. Hazard has got a tendency to blank away from home, however he did score in his last away game against West Ham. He is definitely one to consider, as he has now got the second highest points tally for midfielders in FPL!

Differential – Josh King (SWA)

Even after last week’s heroics and the fact he’s scored 7 goals in 5 games, he’s still owned by less than 7% incredibly, making him qualify as a differential again for this week! This week, Bournemouth take on Swansea at home, a team who have only got 3 clean sheets since GW5! What’s better about him that he’s listed as a midfielder, filling that 5th choice slot nicely for all FPL teams!

Gamble – Sergio Aguero (LIV)

Since Gabriel Jesus got injured, Aguero has scored 1 and assisted 1 in three games for Man City, however he did score twice and assist once against Huddersfield in the FA Cup last week. He’s a gamble for two reasons; one is that he hasn’t established himself as a ‘must-have’ on FPL this season, which is very unusual of Aguero, and two is that Liverpool (who they play this week) always seem to play better against the top 6 teams, so bear these two factors in mind if you’re going to pounce on the gamble!
