Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 37 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Hello and welcome to our captaincy analysis for the upcoming a gameweek 37. It’s tough to believe that another fantastic season of football is nearly behind! Before we outline our top picks for your armband, let’s revisit our picks from last week to see how they fared.

1. Mohamed Salah – 19 points
2.
 Raheem Sterling – 3 points
3. Gylfi Sigurdsson – 3 points
Differential –  Ayoze Perez – 7 points
Gamble – Heung-Min Son – 2 points

So last week was a fairly mixed bag. Hopefully we can suggest some big point scorers for you this week!

Now onto this week’s selections:

1. Mohamed Salah (NEW)

The Liverpool forward missed a guilt edged chance to score a vital away goal in Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat in Barcelona on Wednesday night so Liverpool fans will be hoping he brings his shooting boots to St James’s park for the vital game on Saturday night.  Liverpool play 48 hours before title rivals Manchester City this week so will be desperate to pile the pressure onto Pep Guardiola’s side, the Egyptian has rediscovered some of the form that made him so hard to handle last season in recent weeks and his 19 point return in gameweek 36 will give FPL managers confidence that Salah is the right man for the armband this week.  Cometh the hour?

2. Eden Hazard (WAT)

It is looking very likely that Sunday’s game will be Hazards league farewell to Stamford Bridge as rumours of his summer departure continue to strengthen. If it is to be the Belgians Chelsea farewell the surely he will be in the mood to give the Chelsea supporters one final flash of his undoubted brilliance? This is a must win game for Chelsea to keep themselves in the driving seat for 4th place and while Watford will provide a stern challenge Chelsea and Hazard in particular may possess too  much quality for a Watford time with one eye on the Fa cup final. The Belgian may well prove to be a shrewd captaincy choice.

3. Alexandre Lacazette (BHA)

Arsenal come into this game off the back of a tough away defeat at Leicester in gameweek 36 but will be bolstered by an impressive 3-1 over Valencia in the Europa league, the French forward played well and grabbed himself a brace. Most would expect Arsenal to win at the Emirates over a Brighton side who have probably done enough to ensure they are playing premier league football again next year. Given the gunners strong home form Lacazette Is certainly worth some thought this week.

Differential – Lucas Digne (BUR)

The best left back in the premier league (sorry for the clear Everton bias!) faces Sean Dyche’s Burnley side on Friday night and with Everton signing off from Goodison for the campaign they will be hoping for a strong showing.  Everton’s recent home form has been very strong with a draw with Liverpool followed by impressive victories over Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United so we can expect Everton to come out on top in this clash. While Digne may not be an obvious captaincy choice the French defender has delivered 6 points or more in 6 of the past 8 gameweeks which shows his credentials as a consistent performer. If you’re looking to take a risk with your armband this week then then Lucas Digne may just be your man.

Gamble – Jamie Vardy (MCI)

Jamie Vardy is certainly benefiting from the arrival of Brendan Rodgers at Leicester as the new style of play seems to suit the England forward down to the ground, with 40 points in the last four gameweeks Vardy is certainly a man in form. However, Leicester face an uphill task this weekend with a visit to the Etihad to face league leaders Manchester City. While a Leicester victory would be a shock result I would expect the pace of Vardy to give the City defence problems so if you think Leicester can spoil the party at the Etihad then Jamie Vardy is certainly worth some thought.

Thanks for reading and best of luck this week!
