Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 13 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Last gameweek saw every viable FPL captaincy picks blank, with the only notable performances from a fantasy football perspective coming from Diego Costa (9 points) and Jermain Defoe (11 points). The latter was in last week’s captaincy analysis, sparing our blushes somewhat.

Here’s how last week’s captaincy analysis picks did:

1. Eden Hazard – 4 points
2. Sergio Aguero – 2 points
3. Romelu Lukaku – 2 points
Gamble – Alexis Sanchez – 1 point
Differential – Jermain Defoe – 11 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Sergio Aguero (BUR)

Last week we can just scrap from our brains, can’t we? Every single attacker in my team, all 7 of them, blanked and got less than 2 points each. Aguero was included in that, but that can’t happen again surely? Man City take on a Burnley side this week who lost 4-0 to West Brom. You’d like to think that if the Baggies can do it, Aguero can get a few as well against Burnley. City beat West Brom 4-0 a few weeks back, which is more evidence that surely Aguero has to get on the scoresheet against Sean Dyche’s men.

2. Alexis Sanchez (BOU)

He’s well overdue a decent game, with two blanks in a row now for the Chilean. Arsenal take on Bournemouth this week at the Emirates, which in theory is a simple game for Sanchez, but the lad has been struggling recently, so this is slightly more of a gamble than the other two. But as we all know, when Sanchez starts scoring in a game, he can’t stop scoring!

3. Philippe Coutinho (SUN)

Liverpool have been in scintillating form this season, with Coutinho being the main man behind most of Liverpool’s goals, and you’d like to think this form will continue when Liverpool play Sunderland this week at Anfield. This is a game you would like to think Liverpool can win, but most importantly, one that Coutinho can get double digits in when it comes to fantasy points.

Differential – Matty Phillips  (HUL)

2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games for the West Brom midfielder, a fantastic record for only playing 156 minutes in the two games. At only 5.1 million, he’s a fantastic choice and a differential this week, especially with all the big players blanking last week. West Brom play Hull this week, so a brilliant fixture for him to continue this fantastic form!

Gamble – Diego Costa (TOT)

Costa is in absolutely magnificent form this season, only blanking three times the whole season. He’s scored 10 goals in 12 games this season, but this may be the toughest task for him as they play Spurs, the only team yet to lose this season, and the team that have conceded the least amount of goals all season. Costa has proven that he’s a clinical striker, but can he do it against an in form Pochettino team?
