Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 17 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek’s are coming thick and fast in the festive break, which means more important captaincy selections. The midweek gameweek was a funny one, with only a few of the goalscorers being over 10% ownership… It was just ‘one of those gameweeks!

Lets hope for better this week but before we look at this week, here is how last week’s captaincy analysis did:

1. Diego Costa – 2 points
2. Harry Kane – 2 points
3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 11 points
Differential – Dimitri Payet – 3 points
Gamble – Alexis Sanchez – 7 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Harry Kane (BUR)

Kane very surprisingly managed to blank against a poor Hull side this week, disappointing me and thousands of other FPL managers who stuck him as captain. This week though, Spurs take on a Burnley side who have conceded 16 goals away from home, which is the worst record for any team in the league. Surely Kane will be able to score one or two against them, considering how poor they’ve been!

2. Diego Costa (CRY)

At the minute, he’s the best striker in the league, but watching him against Sunderland, he looked tired and wasn’t his normal self. However, Chelsea take on Crystal Palace this week, who have one of, if not, the worst records in the whole 2016, averaging 0.71 points this year. Chelsea, who have won 10 on the bounce, will want to make it 11 and there is no better team to play than Palace taking into consideration their form this year.

3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (WBA)

Seemingly the only big player to do well on Wednesday, he’s been getting into decent from recently, scoring 5 goals in his last 5 Premier League matches, creating a deadly partnership with Paul Pogba. With West Brom keeping 1 clean sheet in 12 games, you’d like to think that Ibra should be able to get onto the scoresheet this week! Can he continue his brilliant form?!

Differential – Dimitri Payet (HUL)

With West Ham playing a defensively poor Hull side this weekend, West Ham – more importantly, Payet – should be able to get a few against them. West Ham are in desperate need of the points as they have started the season poorly, so if West Ham do net, chances are that Payet is involved one way or another!

Gamble – Alexis Sanchez (MCI)

Arsenal take on Man City off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Everton, which is why Alexis is a gamble. He got a lucky goal against Everton, but didn’t look threatening after that, and will want to make up for the poor performance when Arsenal visit the Etihad this weekend. With Sanchez scoring 6 and assisting 2 in 4 games, can he make up for Arsenal’s performance against Everton?
