Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 21 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Welcome to our captaincy analysis for the upcoming gameweek 20. After a break for the 3rd round of the FA Cup it’s time to turn our attention back to the Premier League.

Here’s how last week’s captaincy analysis did:

1. Alexis Sanchez – 7 points
2. Adam Lallana – 1 point
3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 8 points
Differential – Matt Phillips – 9 points
Gamble – Diego Costa – 2 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Alexis Sanchez (SWA)

The Chilean has single handedly dragged Arsenal through their recent rough patch and after sitting out the FA Cup tie at Preston, he will be fresh and ready to go against Swansea who see their woes continue after sacking American Bob Bradley. The Welsh outfit are weak at the back so you would imagine Sanchez will deliver a good return on Saturday. Perhaps the obvious choice.

2. Harry Kane (WBA)

The Spurs forward has become a father in the week and many managers will be hoping he can mark it with a good performance at White Hart Lane. West Brom are a solid outfit but Tottenham are hitting form and Harry Kane was at the double in gameweek 19 so will be high on confidence; a safe bet for a decent return this week.

3. Diego Costa (LEI)

The league’s top scorer will be looking to get Chelsea back on track after losing their fine winning streak away to Spurs last week. Leicester are far from the side that won the league and are fragile at the back and despite a blip against Spurs, Chelsea retain a sense of invincibility about them so I’m backing an immediate bounce back from the league leaders and you would expect that with the high quality support from the midfield, the Spaniard will bring huge returns. Be aware that the King Power can be a tough place to get a result so factor that in when selecting your captain.

Differential – Robert Snodgrass (BOU)

Something slightly different from our differential pick. The Scotsman represents a departure from the big names usually featured in this analysis but Snodgrass is certainly good value for a place in your thoughts. With 20 points from his last 2 outings, his form is almost unrivalled; plus at £5.8 million he shouldn’t be difficult to fit into your squad. Bournemouth have conceded 3 goals in their last 2 games and come into this one off the back of a 3-0 humbling against League 1 Millwall. There will be opportunities for Snodgrass on Saturday and should certainly come into your captaincy debate.

Gamble – Sergio Aguero (EVE)

No captaincy analysis would be complete without a mention of the mercurial Argentine but he only merits a spot as a gamble option this week. After his suspension for a rash challenge in December, Aguero has struggled to recreate his best form but given the sheer class Aguero possesses it would be unadvisable to disregard the City frontman. On Sunday, Everton are the opponents who have not found clean sheets easy this season and with the likes of De Bruyne & Toure firing on all cylinders, you’d imagine it won’t be long until Aguero is back at the top of his game.

Thanks for reading and good luck!
