FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 14 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

This week we have some midweek Premier League action! This is something we should all get used to as going into the festive break, the fixtures come thick and fast and it is certainly important to remember to make those changes!

With that said, here we will look at the captaincy picks for gameweek 14, but before this, here’s how last week’s Captaincy Analysis did:

1. Harry Kane – 8 points
2. Leroy Sane – 1 point
3. Romelu Lukaku – 2 points
Differential – Xherdan Shaqiri – 9 points
Gamble – Mohamed Salah – 7 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Eden Hazard (SWA)

If you watched the Liverpool match last week, you’ll understand why Hazard is number one. He’s a joy to watch, and if Drinkwater could finish, Hazard would have had a few more assists. With 3 goals and 3 assists in his last 5 GW’s, and with a home game coming up next against Swansea, a team in horrific form, Hazard will definitely fancy his chances of increasing his goal tally! Hazard is only owned by 5% of FPL managers, so if he does explode this week, it will certainly boost your rankings.

2. Mohamed Salah (STK)

Not many teams have been able to stop him this season. In fact, only two have and thats both Manchester clubs. This week, Liverpool take on Stoke away, a team that have conceded the second most amount of goals this season, and considering Salah has scored 5 goals in the last 3 games, Salah will certainly be a very popular captaincy choice this week. He’s owned by 45% of FPL managers, so if you want to maintain your rank, I’d definitely recommend Salah.

3. Harry Kane (LEI)

Kane hasn’t been in great form recently, scoring 1 goal in his last 4 games. However, he was arguably lacking match fitness in those games and we all know what Kane is like; he’ll eventually start scoring plenty! In the reverse fixture, Kane scored 4 goals in the one game, and as Kane seems to be much better away rather than at home, chances are he could score this week. His form has seen his ownership dip, so he may not be one of the more popular captaincy choices. Leicester have only kept 3 clean sheets this season too, so their defence has been leaking goals!

Differential – Will Hughes (MUN)

I’ve been a fan of Will Hughes for a long time but finally he’s starting to get some minutes for Watford. They’ve been in fantastic form this season and Hughes has been influential in their past two wins. He scored and created the goals 2 weeks ago, scored the opening goal last week and is only owned by 0.5% of FPL managers, so he is a massive differential this week for captaincy. If they repeat these performances, and the ones against Chelsea/Arsenal, Hughes could grab a goal again this week!

Gamble – Gabriel Jesus (SOU)

Man City cannot stop scoring. However, the most frustrating thing is that Pep can’t make up his mind so who knows who will start! Jesus featured for ten minutes, managing to grab an assist in that time, and that means he must be likely to start in the midweek game against Southampton. If he starts, it might pay off, but if he’s benched, he’ll only have 10-20 minutes to do anything.
