FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 21 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Last gameweek was a great week for the FPL Captaincy Analysis as the number one pick of the week turned out to be the star man of the gameweek! Let’s hope our picks are just as good this week!

Firstly, as always, here’s how last week’s FPL Captaincy Analysis did:

1. Harry Kane – 17 points
2. Eden Hazard – 3 points
3. Raheem Sterling – 11 points
Differential – Phillipe Coutinho – 13 points
Gamble – Romelu Lukaku – 2 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Mohamed Salah (LEI)

This shouldn’t be surprising to anyone. He’s now owned by a whopping 60%, and the only way to benefit from his points now is to captain him. He’s scored 15 goals and assisted 7 times in only 20 games, which is a fantastic record and one that he’ll hope to add too. He’s only blanked once since GW8 and I’d recommend him as captain to those who are trying to maintain their rank, as if he performs well and you haven’t captained him, it’ll end badly!

2. Raheem Sterling (CRY)

Another midfielder performing magnificently well this season is Sterling, and seems to be exempt from Pep’s rotation as he’s now started and played the full 90 in the last 8 games for Man City. In the last 4 games, he’s scored 4 and assisted 3 times, and is definitely one of the reasons why Man City are still unbeaten in the league. This week, City take on Crystal Palace, a team who have only kept 3 clean sheets all season, and considering the form Man City have been in, this should be an easy one for them on paper.

3. Eden Hazard (STK)

He seems to find a place on the captaincy list every week because despite blanking, he’s actually performing fantastically well in these games; he’s just not finding the net as much as we’d like. I expect that drought to end this week, with a home game against Stoke coming up. This is because Stoke are missing several key defenders, such as Zouma and Shawcross, and Hazard seems to perform better whilst playing at Stamford Bridge. If he can replicate the form that we saw a month or two back, it could see him score a few goals this week!

Differential – Alexis Sanchez (WBA)

I’ve been reluctant to include Sanchez as he’s been toying with a move away from Arsenal all season, but with the January window coming up, it’s no coincidence (in my opinion) that Sanchez is starting to play better, because he’s trying to impress the teams that are interested in him. Prior to last week, he had only scored 4 goals all season, but in the last 2 weeks, he’s scored 3 times. This week, West Brom take on Arsenal, and if Sanchez is truly desperate to leave, he’ll only try even harder to try and get on the scoresheet. He’s only owned by 2.7% too, and if he plays like he did last season, the Sanchez that scored 24 goals and assisted 11 could be seen against West Brom. At the moment, that Sanchez has yet to be seen.

Gamble – Romelu Lukaku (SOU)

Lukaku is still surprisingly owned by 30% of FPL managers, despite scoring only 2 goals in the last 7 GW’s. A striker of his class and calibre surely has to break that drought, and it could be broken this week, as United take on a Southampton side that is leaking goals left, right and centre. Kane managed to score a hat-trick last week against the Saints, and with United so far behind their rivals, they’ll be desperate to try and at least claw back some points that they’ve lost throughout the season. United have been in woeful form in the past few weeks, and if they slip up anymore, they run the risk of dropping out of the top 2!
