FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 27 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Another gameweek is upon us and with just 12 gameweeks remaining, now is the time to make the move to the top of those mini leagues! With that said, the captaincy selection becomes even more important, but before we look at this week’s captaincy selections, here’s how last week’s FPL Captaincy Analysis did:

1. Sergio Aguero – 2 points
2. Mohamed Salah – 15 points
3. Jordan Ayew – 2 points
Differential – Alexis Sanchez – 5 points
Gamble – Theo Walcott – 2 points

Now onto this week’s picks…

1. Alexis Sanchez (NEW)

He scored his first goal for Manchester United last week, scoring a rebound from a missed penalty, possibly indicating that he could be the number one penalty taker for United for at least the rest of this season. He had a relatively good game, and with Pogba expected to be included in the starting line-up this week, it could mean that Sanchez will have more chances to score, and could create a deadly relationship with Lukaku. This week, United take on a fellow “United” in Newcastle, who have struggled all season defensively, and this form will probably carry into the game against Man United. If Sanchez can expose their defence, he could end up with a few on the scoresheet this week!

2. Segio Aguero (LEI)

Despite blanking last week (then again, every player seemed to!), Aguero didn’t necessarily have a bad game, but the Burnley defence proved to be characteristically strong yet again. City had several chances to end the game and most of them never fell to Aguero. They’ll want to bounce back from that draw, and bounce back they likely will against Leicester, who I thought looked unorganised at the back when they faced Everton a week or so ago. As usual, Aguero is likely to start considering Jesus’ injury, so I’d say he’s a safe bet for captaincy this week!

3. Mohamed Salah (SOU)

Every week, I tell everyone to captain him, however every week, I never do it myself. He’s killed me this season, to be honest. My reluctance to captain him has ended poorly, so from now on, I’m captaining him. He’s scored 21 goals this season, as well as assisting 8 times, and scored twice on the weekend against Spurs, including one ‘Messi-style’ goal. It was incredible but unfortunately, it was given the coverage it was worth due to Spurs’ penalties. For safety, and to maintain your insanity, just captain Salah. It saves a lot of time!

Differential – Theo Walcott (CRY)

If you’re mental and not captaining Salah as you fancy him to have an off game, Walcott could be your man to captain. He looked like the only one who actually wants to try and play decent football for Everton, and it’s beyond me why he was hooked on the 55th minute. Arsenal’s defence didn’t look very strong, Theo’s pace could have exploited it, however anti-football Big Sam doesn’t see the appeal. This week, Everton take on Crystal Palace at Goodison Park. It’s a massive game for both teams, and with Everton usually playing better at home, he could replicate his form from the previous two games which saw him score twice and assist once!

Gamble – Harry Kane (ARS)

He’s a gamble because of two reasons. A – he was lucky to score last time out because the penalty decisions were controversial and dubious, and B – he was absolutely shocking otherwise. It was his worst performance in a very long time for Spurs, and for 80 minutes, the only times I noticed him was when he lost the ball. Still, he scored, which is all that counts, but he’ll be looking to bounce back against Arsenal, a team that are the definition of being a ‘Ferrari up front, Prius at the back’. Their team leaks goals, and managed to concede 1 to Everton who played with about 8 defensive players, which shows you everything about Arsenal’s defence. We all know how good Kane is – he could score a hat-trick despite a poor game. It’s hard to tell!
