FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 9 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Last week’s captaincy analysis saw ‘one of those weeks’, where the big hitters blanked and it was Gabriel Jesus who was left propping up the selections with a huge 13 points. That said, gameweek 9 will once again see some big games and big scorers, but before we analyse this week’s captaincy picks, here’s how last week’s FPL Captaincy Analysis did:

1. Harry Kane – 2 points
2. Gabriel Jesus – 13 points
3. Alexis Sanchez  – 0 points
Differential – Eden Hazard – 2 points
Gamble – Romelu Lukaku – 2 points

Now onto this week’s captaincy picks:

1. Gabriel Jesus (BUR)

Man City are on fire at the minute. They obliterated Stoke, Watford and Palace and completely outclassed Chelsea away from home. Jesus has been in fine form too, only blanking in the game that he missed completely, Palace. Ignoring that game, he’s scored 6 times and assisted once in 5 games, and with Aguero back this week, he could improve those stats as he tends to play better next to Sergio. City play at home this week against Burnley, who aren’t too bad at defending, but there won’t be much they can do against Man City and Jesus! Jesus also grabbed a goal midweek against Napoli, a team who have only conceded 5 times this season!

2. Romelu Lukaku (HUD)

Lukaku blanked for only the second time this year against Liverpool, meaning that his 4 goal-streak comes to an end. However, he has still scored 8 goals this season, and this shouldn’t be forgotten despite him blanking last weekend. An away game to Huddersfield shouldn’t draw up too many problems, especially considering their current form as they have conceded 9 in the last 5 games, gaining only 1 point.

3. Christian Eriksen  – (LIV)

Another team in fantastic form is Spurs. They’ve scored 8 goals in 3 games, many of which have came from Christian Eriksen, who has been heavily involved in the majority of the goals. This week, Spurs play Liverpool who have conceded the most goals away from home this season, 11! If Spurs continue their away form into this game, then Eriksen may be able to repeat his 11 point haul that he got last week!

Differential – Tammy Abraham (LEI)

Tammy Abraham took a while to get into good form, but finally the 5.7m striker is starting to get in on the goals for Swansea. Abraham has 3 goals in 3 games, fantastic value for a striker priced so low. His ownership is only 8% too, and if he continues his form into Leicester, who are currently without a manger, then he’ll be a fantastic differential option for captaincy! Leicester without a manager could damage their performance, and could lead to Abraham getting a few on the weekend.

Gamble – Wilfried Zaha (NEW)

Could also be classified as a differential too but with Zaha coming back from a knee injury, his minutes may be limited, meaning that he might not start the game against Newcastle. However, it is no coincidence that Palace start winning/scoring goals when Zaha comes back. He’s a fantastic player for them and so influential in more or less all of their attacks, scoring their only goal so far this season. He’s only owned by 2.9%, so could be a fantastic gamble if it pays off.
