Differential Picks – FPL Gameweek 12 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

It was two returns for the four differentials that made it on to the field of play last weekend, with Anthony Martial continuing a fine run of form and Gylfi Sigurdsson picking up an assist in Everton’s victory over Brighton. The biggest disappointment was Riyad Mahrez, who surprisingly missed out for Manchester City in their home destruction of Southampton. Unfortunately, rotation is just a part of the game when it comes to City assets so it’s hard to feel too aggrieved.

Here are some low ownership options ahead of gameweek 12.

JOHANN BERG GUDMUNDSSON – £6.0m – TSB: 3.2% – Leicester (A)

With news breaking of James Maddison’s knee injury, owners of the young English midfielder will now be looking for a replacement in that price bracket. One such option is Johann Berg Gudmundsson, who has quietly been picking up the points for a struggling Burnley side in recent weeks. In his last six fixtures, the Icelandic midfielder has returned 2 goals and 4 assists, only failing to return against Manchester City and Chelsea. Burnley travel to a Leicester side that are also without key defender Harry Maguire this week, before two promising fixtures against Newcastle and Crystal Palace.

XHERDAN SHAQIRI – £7.0m – TSB: 2.3% – Fulham (H)

For a more exciting punt, Liverpool’s Xherdan Shaqiri has been impressing when getting the minutes for Liverpool this season. Though he has only started one of the last three league fixtures, he has provided returns in two, and with Liverpool’s premium frontline very unimpressive in the midweek loss at Red Star Belgrade, the Swiss attacker looks set to start at the weekend. Fulham have by far the worst defensive record in the league so far this season, conceding 29 goals in just eleven games. Even if Shaqiri gets half an hour, he could punish tiring legs.

ALVARO MORATA – £8.7m – TSB: 2.6% – Everton (H)

Despite Olivier Giroud linking well with star man Eden Hazard, it appears for now that Alvaro Morata will retain his starting berth for the visit of Everton to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s Spaniard has scored 3 in his last two appearances and should have had a hat-trick in the victory over Crystal Palace last weekend. Known to be a confidence-based player, expect Morata to continue his fine form for a Maurizio Sarri side that have bagged 12 goals in their last four league games. Sarri has labelled Morata ‘fragile’ despite his impressive performances, but this is surely an attempt at motivating Morata to even greater heights in the coming weeks.

GRADY DIANGANA – £4.5m – TSB: 0.1% – Huddersfield (A)

A few interesting £4.5m options have presented themselves at points this season, such as Victor Camarasa and Isaac Success. The new flavour of the month looks to be West Ham’s promoted academy prospect, Grady Diangana. Diangana impressed boss Manuel Pellegrini with a 2 goal debut in an 8-0 romp of Macclesfield Town, before taking the place of the injured Andriy Yarmolenko against Tottenham and starting the following two league games. The attacking midfielder registered his first return at home to Burnley in gameweek 11, and offers high potential with very little risk at his price point ahead of West Ham’s favourable run of fixtures through to the New Year. Felipe Anderson looks the best West Ham midfield option, but is a recent differential pick and is far more expensive.

FABIAN BALBUENA – £4.4m – TSB: 0.8% – Huddersfield (A)

Having mentioned West Ham’s fantastic fixture list, it would be criminal to not explore their defensive options. The best of the bunch looks to be centre-back Fabian Balbuena, who comes in at a budget price. Balbuena has offered serious attacking threat for the Hammers so far this season, and scored his first goal in a recent draw with Leicester City. His numbers for influence, threat and bonus far exceed his defensive counterparts and having played every league minute for the club this season, looks at very little risk of rotation – an important factor heading into the busy Winter period.

Good luck all!
