FPL Updates Gameweek 26 – Fantasy Premier League Tips

The first DGW of the season is over and it wasn’t a bad week for the side. 83 (-4) was only enough to give us a small green arrow up to 34k. Both of our transfers returned some points but slightly annoyingly Hazard braced after we sold him. Overall the transfer’s worked out well.

Currently we have 5 outfield players that blank next gameweek or won’t play, so we’ll start to address that this week with our transfers. With 3 blanks on the horizon, I don’t want to get too engrossed in planning, with the possibility of being blinded from those short term gains.

Guaita and Wan-Bissakaboth returned clean sheets with the latter getting booked. Doherty assisted the opener after drawing a penalty. Robertson was the only player to let us down after drawing with West Ham. Bednarek picked up 7 points on our bench after assisting a goal.

Jota picked up an assist in Wolves’ win. Pogba returned an assist and captain Sterling brought the assist total up to 5 with 2 against Arsenal and a cameo appearance against Everton for 22 points as captain. Salah surprisingly blanked away to West Ham and Richarlison was underwhelming once again with a measly 3 points in his DGW.

It was goals galore upfront. The 2 strikers combined with 4 goals. Rashford and Pogba combined once again, with the striker being criminally undervalued. New signing Aguero netted a hat-trick and a blank in his DGW for an impressive 19 points.

Transfers: Sterling and Kamara are sold for Son and Jimenez (-4)
Kamara needed to go at some point as the bench is key with upcoming blanks. Sterling is also likely to have 3 blank games in their next 8. Wolves’ run of games in phenomenal and I feel all 3 of their assets are cracking value. It’s been painful not owning the Mexican. Son returns to the side and has looked desperate to score at every opportunity over the past 2 games.

The defence are all at home this week. Guaita faces West Ham and has definitely solidified his number 1 role in the team. Doherty faces Newcastle and scored twice and assisted mid week in the cup. How frustrating. Robertson has Bournemouth at home, while Bednarek has Cardiff. On paper we’re looking solid in defence.

Jota’s returned in his last 3 games and looks to continue that against Newcastle. Pogba travels to Fulham who are leaking goals. Unusually Salah is coming off the back of 2 blanks in a row but with Bournemouth next, that should end. We all remember his hat-trick against them earlier in the season. Son is at home to Leicester and he’s had a rare 8 day break after his busy schedule. I’m glad to have him back in the side. Richarlison is benched.

The same pair keep their place along with the new arrival which sees us move to a 3-4-3. Rashford goes to Craven Cottage and will be full of confidence after winning January player of the month. Aguero is at home to Chelsea and the Argentine has had an impressive record against them in recent years.

Captain: It was a tough choice this week with plenty of good options. Salah and Pogba were the 2 stand out options against 2 weak defences but the captain’s armband is on Salah this week. Man Utd have PSG midweek and if all goes to plan, Pogba could be brought off if things are going well. Both defence’s aren’t good but after Salah’s hat-trick against them and the fact Liverpool will be desperate to regain first place, the Egyptian takes it.
