FPL Updates Gameweek 27 – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 26 felt like such a long time ago. 75 (-4) saw another minor movement in the ranks but this time in the green. Over the past 7 gameweeks we’ve netted a loss in rank of 700 places with us currently sitting at 32,948. Progress! Last week’s transfers didn’t go to plan after selling Sterling’s 18 pointer. Jimenez blanked and Son just about got on the score sheet but it was a big net loss.

After the FA Cup results, the blanks have become much clearer with another 2 significant BGWs after this upcoming one. We’ve currently only got 4 players set to start in BGW31 and two of them are Everton players so things are looking bleak. We’ve still got plenty of time to make a decision on strategy but our main focus will be preparing for the upcoming blank and double gameweeks.

It wasn’t a great week for the defence with Robertson standing out from the rest. The Scotsman picked up his 7th assist of the season for a 9 pointer. The other 3 combined for a total of 6 points but it was a scarce week for clean sheets (only 4).

Son scored on his return back to the side but it was only a 6 pointer due to him receiving a booking for simulation. Salah scored against Bournemouth but didn’t earn any bonus points. Pogba bagged his 5th double digit haul of the season with a brace against a ragged Fulham side. Jota disappointed with a single along with Richarlison who found a way off the bench to replace the injured Rashford.

All 3 of our Wolves assets blanked on Monday night to ruin a potential great gameweek against Newcastle. Aguero bagged a second hat-trick in 3 games. He tore the Chelsea defence apart in a 6-0 win for 17 points.

Transfers: Digne -> Pereira

While Digne plays in the next two blanks, his fixtures are against two top 6 sides. The Leicester defender doesn’t face a top 6 side until the final 3 games of the season. Pereira’s attacking threat was a massive factor along with the possibility of he playing OOP.

Apart from the new recruit, the defence is away from home this gameweek. Guaita faces Leicester who are without AWB. The Foxes have only scored once in their last 3 home games but it’s not going to be easy getting a clean sheet. Pereira goes head to head with the keeper this week. A 0-0 would go down a well. Doherty travels to Bournemouth and has been prolific in the cup, it’s shame he can’t translate it to the league. Bednarek faces Arsenal which looks like 2 points at best and Robertson is at Old Trafford.

Son travels to Burnley and should have Kane on the bench which is a massive boost. Jota travels to Bournemouth who’ve been conceding for fun as of late. Pogba and Salah are against each other in a pivotal game for Liverpool’s title hopes. Pogba is coming off the back of man of the match performance against Chelsea in the cup.

Up top Jimenez is our third Wolves player and I’m backing them to get a few goals. Rashford is our 4th player in the Man Utd Liverpool game, so hopefully it’s goals galore.

Aguero stays in the side even with his blanks due to his blistering form and fixtures.

Captain: This was one of the toughest weeks. I didn’t think there were many stand out options. The Man Utd Liverpool clash is hard to read but I expect it to be higher scoring with Mourinho no longer involved. However, Salah hasn’t performed well against the big 6. Therefore I’ve put the armband on Son away to Burnley. The only worry I have is a certain Tom Heaton.
