FPL Updates Gameweek 31 – Fantasy Premier League Tips

We really are stuck in a rut. 42 points was a 17k drop to 66k. The side had only 3 players that didn’t blank which explains why we did so poorly. Benching our second highest scoring, Richarlison didn’t help either.

The transfers backfired as the Wolves outgoing duo returned 14 points, a 9 point loss. We backed the wrong Bournemouth horses in Brooks and King as the Wilson Fraser duo scored 24. A painful week but we have to hope our picks perform in the BGW. The focus is on BGW31 & BGW33 as the free hit will be used in DGW32.

Not much too much to say about the defence other than Pereira was the only one to score more than a single.

Pogba and Brooks frustratingly blanked while the Liverpool midfield duo put in the work. I’m glad I backed Mané over a second Liverpool defender. He looks like he’s in the form of his life netting a brace and a fantastic option for BGW31 & BGW33.

Captain Aguero could only manage an assist as Sterling ran away with the show. I’m really regretting selling him only a few weeks ago. Rashford disappointed at Arsenal. As previously mentioned King has plenty of work to catch up on the now fit Wilson after his goal and assist.

Transfers: Rashford, Aguero & Guaita (OUT) -> Vardy, Barnes & Kepa (IN)

I’m aiming to have 9 players for the blank gameweek. With Bednarek playing in BGW33 and there not being many lucrative defensive options, I don’t think it’s worth burning 4 for another defender. Both incomers are in form and have 2 nice games during the blanks.

There’s a weird scenario where we’ll be near the end of the Crystal Palace Watford game before the deadline. If Watford are winning I’m going to be without Guaita for both blanks and I’ll take a hit to replace him. It’s going to go down to the wire. The likely replacement is going to be the Chelsea keeper, Kepa. Fabianski is the other option but I don’t see him doing much in BGW33.

Just the two in defence (currently). Robertson is at Craven Cottage which is where I see most of this week’s points coming from. I’m not expecting a clean sheet from Pereira with their woeful defence but an attacking return would do nicely.

4 in the midfield with Salah and Mane being the standout players against Fulham. You couldn’t ask for much of a better choice and this could and should be the game where Salah regains his scoring touch. Richarlison gets a rare start as he faces Chelsea. Everton aren’t great offensively at home and it looks like the Brazilian got his monthly points on our bench last week but we every point counts this week. Brooks has a home game against Newcastle who are without two key players, Lascelles and Schar.

We’ve 3 up front with a full budget lineup. Barnes and Vardy face each other and we know the Leicester defence is poor. Rodgers has made Vardy and Leicester look much better and attacking but he did face Fulham last week. Hopefully it’s an end to end affair and not a bore draw. King rounds out the side at home to Newcastle. As previously mentioned, he faces an injury hit defence and Howe has a relatively fit side to exploit this weakness.

Captain: It has to be between Salah and Mane. This is easily the best fixture in the gameweek. By form it’s has to be Mane. Salah has averaged 3.4 PPG in his last 7 while Mané has averaged 8.3! I think the price gap is making many go for Salah even though there’s only one performing. However, Salah has been unlucky and getting chances in recent weeks. His stats aren’t much different to Mane’s and fingers crossed both perform.
