It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a green arrow. Our 9 men did us proud scoring 59 (-4) points when the average was 26. Captaincy is crucial to this game and it really proved to be this week.
Both our transfers blanked, so we’re down 2 points on the moves but hopefully BGW33 will negate that loss. There was just the one clean sheet this week and that’s why I wasn’t too worried going into this week with 2 defenders. However, deciding not to take a hit for Kepa was the wrong choice but it’s hard to predict a penalty save.
Robertson and Pereira both scored 2 points in a week where Everton were the only side to keep a clean sheet.
Brooks was quiet once again as he blanked. Salah frustrated many owners with another poor display against Fulham. However, Mané on the other hand is in the form of his life. 26 points for the captain with a goal and an assist was key to a rare green arrow. Richarlison bagged an 8 pointer with a surprise goal against Chelsea. The faith has somewhat been repaid.
Both new recruits Vardy and Barnes blanked against each other. 3 goals in the game but nothing for either of them was disappointing. King joint top scored with Mané as he braced against Newcastle. It was roles reversed with Wilson from last gameweek.
Transfers: Free Hit
Kepa takes the keeper spot for Chelsea’s two plum fixtures. I think it’s key to try have nailed players during a DGW.. Laporte looks like Man City’s most nailed on defender other than Ederson and is fresh off his recent injury. Lindelof gets a spot in the side against two sides who look to be focusing on the FA Cup semi finals. His wife has just had a baby too! Schlupp takes the final spot in the side. His attacking threat is a key factor; fixtures meanwhile aren’t terrible with Huddersfield up first and then a Spurs side who they’ve had good results against in the past.
I don’t think I need to say much about Sterling. Form and fixtures. Pogba’s form has dropped as of late but he’s been playing in a deeper role due to injuries but hopefully that shouldn’t be the case this week. Hazard hasn’t looked his best recently but still has managed to respectable amount of points over the past couple of weeks. This is more of a fixtures pick than form. Milivojevic is one of the punts in the side. Penalty duties and set pieces are his main forms of points.
Aguero is the third city player who’s up against two sides in the drop zone. Rashford is the third Man Utd asset too. He’s had a long rest after picking up a few knocks and playing intensively over the last few months, so I’m hoping that has done him good. With Ole being confirmed as the permanent manager, that may give the squad a boost heading into the DGW. Higuain is the third Chelsea player in the side. The Argentine striker has had plenty of chances to score but hasn’t managed to convert them.
Captaincy: It has to be one of the City boys. You couldn’t ask for much nicer fixtures and I’d be playing the triple captain chip if I wasn’t on free hit. I’ve decided to go with the inform Sterling over Aguero. He netted 4 goals on international duty and has kept his momentum going while Aguero has had a nice 2 week break. It’s hard to see both playing 180 minutes but I can’t see why Pep would want to rest two of his most in form players.
