FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 7 – FPL Tips

It was a much better week after a few gameweeks in the doldrums. 75 points was a gameweek rank of 393k and gave the side a 1,000,000 green arrow up to 793k. It’s not where I hoped to be but it’s massive progress from an average start. With 2 FTs and a wildcard still to use, hopefully there’s plenty of ground made over the next few weeks.

Heaton had a tough week at The Emirates, shipping 3 goals while making 3 saves. Digne had another poor week against a weak attacking side in Sheffield United. He’s returned just 7 points in the last 4 weeks. While Liverpool have managed just 1 clean sheet this season, Robertson returned back to back assists and scooped all 3 bonus. Zinchenko was dropped from the City side and in cake Rico with a handy assist. To round out the defence was Lundstram. He replaced Sterling who stayed on the bench and it was to my delight as he assisted, kept the only clean sheet and scored maximum bonus points.

The Ceballos punt hasn’t worked out. He blanked in his 71 minutes against Aston Villa. Mount was fit enough to start to our relief with no cover left on the bench. He blanked but the main thing is he’s fit for next week. Salah could only assist against Chelsea as the defenders stole the show. It was about time I nailed the captain pick and KDB was on fire in Man City’s 8-0 win against Watford. At his price he looks a no brainer for the coming weeks. A goal, a couple of assists and 3 bps earned him a 34 pointer with the armband.

Pukki and Barnes both failed to score or assist in their clash against each other. The wrong Burnley forward, Wood braced!

Transfers: Barnes/Digne -> Abraham/Soyuncu

Barnes has recently posted some very poor stats and the inform Abraham is hard to ignore at that price. Digne is very dear if he’s not keeping clean sheet or getting an assist every other week. He goes to the much cheaper Soyuncu who has a great run of games and the Leicester defence have been solid without keeping clean sheets.

Heaton has Burnley at home and they’ve failed to score on just one occasion. Robertson has Sheffield United on the road and I’m hoping he can double his clean sheet tally. Zinchenko keeps his spot in the side but if he doesn’t make the XI Rico will deputise against West Ham. Everton away is a tricky fixture but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the blues keep a CS. Soyuncu faces Newcastle who have scored 4 goals this season.

KDB and Sterling have a nice tie against Everton who’ve been extremely leaky in the past few weeks. They’ll be in great spirits after battering Watford and advancing in The Carabao Cup. Salah travels to Sheffield United and the Eypgtian is yet to score away from Anfield. Mount faces Brighton and his next 6 games look brilliant. He’s in the side for the long run.

Pukki and Norwich face Palace away from home however, they look much stronger at home. The Canaries have just scored once in their first 3 away games. Abraham is against Brighton at home and looks like a flat track bully from what I’ve seen of him this season but he did go close last week. Greenwood gets a rare start ahead of his opponent next week Ceballos. With the number of injuries he looks nailed to start against Arsenal and he’s down to £4.4m!

Captain: Sterling. After a rest last week and a 70 minute appearance on Tuesday, he looks prime to start against a poor Everton defence. Salah’s away form was once again a deciding factor.
