Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 1 – FPL Tips

We are finally back with a new season. Some new expectations but the same old mission; to win the Fantasy Premier League. Here’s our take on Gameweek 1’s Fantasy Premier League fixtures and along with it, the star man and result predictions. We hope this helps you all in order to achieve or maybe over achieve your Fantasy Premier League expectations.

So good luck and here’s the Fantasy Premier League Preview for gameweek 1:

Manchester United vs Leicester

“There is something big happening at the Theatre of Dreams” is what Zlatan Ibrahimovic once said and the Red Devils will definitely be looking to put their last few seasons behind them and start hunting for the title again in order to achieve that statement. In order to do so, a home game is a must win for them. On the other hand, life after their creator-in-chief, Riyad Mahrez, will be an interesting one to watch. Jose and his boys seem to have the upper hand in this one.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (10.5m)

The little Chilean hit the ground running on United’s pre-season tour to the states, and will surely have something to say in this one as well.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 2-0 Leicester

Newcastle vs Tottenham

Both Newcastle & Spurs come into the first game of the season on the back of a pretty rusty pre-season. It is definitely the perfect opportunity for the Toons to capitalise on the depleted/holidaying Spurs contingent, but not a team you could trust for the next 5 gameweeks.

STAR MAN: Christian Eriksen (9.5m)

Time and time again the Dane has proved his ability to single handedly take home the points.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 1-1 Tottenham

Bournemouth vs Cardiff

Bournemouth vs Cardiff

The Cherries have been pretty up and down throughout the Summer, involved in some rather high scoring games. Cardiff on the contrary, even after securing automatic promotion, don’t look like a side that has what it takes to compete at the highest level. With the home support behind them, the Cherries should comfortably sail in this one.

STAR MAN: Joshua King (6.5m)

The young English lad will surely be looking to show Gareth Southgate what he missed in Russia 😉

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 3-1 Cardiff

Fulham vs Crystal Palace

The Eagles seem to be all geared up for the new season as they look like a completely transformed side under Big Roy. Fulham are no different as they seem to have all the firepower they need to succeed in the Premier League. This fixture certainly seems to be an end to end one that surely promises goals.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (7.0m)

He is certainly the heart of the Palace attack.

PREDICTION: Fulham 0-2 Crystal Palace

Huddersfield vs Chelsea

Chelsea travel to the John Smith stadium on the back of a disappointing yet deserved defeat at the hand of the Citizens. Sarri will indeed be looking to put that in the past & hit the ground running from day 1 in the league & an away win will surely be something to lift the morale in the dressing room.

STAR MAN: Pedro (6.5m)

His performances in pre-season surely make him worth a shout against a not so sturdy Terriers defensive line.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield Town 0-1 Chelsea

Watford vs Brighton

Watford have made some decent signings in the summer and will be looking to start the season as positively as they have done the last few years. Brighton after last season will be confident of doing better this season and staying in the Premier League will be their primary goal.

STAR MAN: Andre Gray (6.0m)

After a rather disappointing season last time around, he will be looking to make his mark in this first fixture.

PREDICTION: Watford 1-1 Brighton

Wolves vs Everton

After an amazing season in the Championship, Wolves will be looking to take the Premier League by surprise but the only question that remains is do they have the quality to trouble the points table? The Toffees will be looking to kick off their season in style under new manager Marco Silva. This should be an interesting fixture with both teams looking to win the game.

STAR MAN: Cenk Tosun (7.0m)

He did well towards the end of the season for Everton and will be looking to continue his form through to this new season.

PREDICTION: Wolves 1-2 Everton

Liverpool vs West Ham

The Reds have had a pretty good pre-season and with their impressive new signings all fit, they will be looking to start this season on a high and make a statement to the other competitors. West Ham on the other hand will be looking to forget last season and utilise their new manager’s tactics to perfection.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (13.0m)

The Egyptian maestro is back in action and we all do look forward to seeing him back on the scoresheet again this season.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-1 West Ham

Southampton vs Burnley

The Saints don’t have much to talk about when it comes to the transfer market but they do have an experienced manager in Mark Hughes to give them confidence going into the tougher games. Burnley, after their heroics from last season, now find themselves amongst the teams with one of the best defences. Southampton will surely find it difficult to break this Burnley defence down.

STAR MAN: James Tarkowski (5.0m)

A vital part of the Burnley defence and if this were to be a goalless draw, he might just be the main man in defence for the Clarets.

PREDICTION: Southampton 0-0 Burnley

Arsenal vs Manchester City

The big game of the opening weekend is this spectacle where the Gunners take on the men in blue at home under their new manager Unai Emery, who will be looking to start things off on a positive note. The Citizens will of course be looking to continue their form from last season. Both teams have had a very good pre season and this should be a competitive fixture first up.

STAR MAN: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (11.0m)

This man has been in great form since the end of last season and will surely be looking to start off the season with a bang.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 2-2 Manchester City
