Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 2 – FPL Tips

The first gameweek is done and dusted with and the games went pretty much according to the predictions. The second gameweek has some big games and maybe there are some upsets on the cards. Here’s our take on the key players and predictions for every game to be played in the second gameweek.

Good luck, and here’s the Fantasy Premier League Preview for gameweek 2.

Cardiff vs Newcastle

Cardiff suffered an away defeat to Bournemouth and Newcastle lost at home to Spurs which were kind of expected results. This gameweek will be important for both these teams to establish their mark in this season and gain confidence for the rest of the season to follow.

STAR MAN: Matt Ritchie (6.0m)

He has been key in Newcastle’s attack since he joined and will play a major role in shepherding that attack forward.

PREDICTION: Cardiff 0-1 Newcastle

Everton vs Southampton

Everton, after last game’s draw, will be just about satisfied as they were down to ten men against a very good attacking Wolves team. Southampton played out a goalless draw at home to a defensively well drilled Burnley team. Everton seem to have an upper hand in this one with their squad and quality.

STAR MAN: Cenk Tosun (7.0m)

Got an assist in his previous game but missed out on the scoresheet. He will be looking to make a mark this time around.

PREDICTION: Everton 2-0 Southampton

Leicester vs Wolves

The Foxes played a great game away at Old Trafford last weekend. They surely will be the favourites playing at home but Wolves have a force in Neves who is widely tipped to be their top performer. The attacking threat that Wolves possess might trouble the Foxes defence.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (9.0m)

Who’s ready to have a party? Of course it’s Jamie Vardy at home!

PREDICTION: Leicester 2-1 Wolves

Tottenham vs Fulham

Tottenham were not so convincing in their first match but we’re good enough to get the victory. They now come up against a newly promoted Fulham side who will be looking to flex the strength they gained in the transfer window. Despite this, we can see only one winner here and that is Tottenham.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (12.5m)

Goalless first game just means the big man is gearing up to be on the scoresheet this time around.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 2-0 Fulham

West Ham vs Bournemouth

The Hammers were hammered last weekend away from home by Liverpool and will be looking to come back strong and prove a point by chalking up their first points of the season. Bournemouth were comfortable winners at home in their first game which will give them confidence to come out all guns blazing.

STAR MAN: Marko Arnautovic (7.0m)

Who else for the Hammers other than this man to save the day?

PREDICTION: West Ham 2-1 Bournemouth

Chelsea vs Arsenal

Emery’s Arsenal era began with an expected defeat against the Citizens. Sarri’s side on the contrary were rampant as they overcame the Terriers by 3 goals to the good. We can surely expect both these sides to have a go at each other in this London derby.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.5m)

The little Belgian is all set to start & show Los Blancos why he should be at the Bernabeu.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal

Burnley vs Watford

The Clarets come into this game on the back of a Thursday night Europa League qualification game & will certainly be fatigued. The perfect opportunity for the Hornets to pounce.

STAR MAN: Jose Holebas (4.5m)

The attacking left back has begun the season on the front foot & could surely have something to say against the Clarets.

PREDICTION: Burnley 0-1 Watford

Manchester City vs Huddersfield

A rampant City side is up against an out of sorts & defensively poor Terriers side. You know what to expect from Pep & his boys.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (11.0m)

If the little Argentine starts, he is bound to be among the goals.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 4-0 Huddersfield

Brighton vs Manchester United

Brighton kick started the new Premier League season with a disappointing defeat away at Vicarage Road. On the other hand, Jose & his boys were just the better side at Old Trafford. The Red Devils will surely be eyeing up at least a title challenge & such away games are a must win, if United are to.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (10.5m)

Though the Chilean gave the ball away way too many of times, he still showed signs of his game changing potential.

PREDICTION: Brighton 0-2 Manchester United

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool

The Reds have indeed picked up from where they left off & so have the Eagles. For the Monday night fixture of the gameweek, we have 2 attacking sides going head to head and we should expect nothing but entertainment & goals from both sides.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (13.0m)

Will you dare to ignore the Egyptian..!?

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 1-3 Liverpool
