Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 23 – FPL Tips

With the fight for top 4 heating up in the Premier League as well as our mini leagues. It’s certainly the time to play brave or go home. Best of luck and may your arrows be green!

Here is the Gameweek 23 Preview:

Wolves vs Leicester

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leicester City

Wolverhampton and Leicester City face each other at the Molineux in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining games of Saturday’s fixtures. Wolves did well to beat Liverpool in the FA Cup in their last home game and that is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Jamie Vardy and co. Over the years, Wolverhampton have turned the Molineux into a real fortress and seeing as Leicester City failed to impress in a 2-1 loss to Southampton at the weekend, we are tempted to put our money on Nuno Espirito Santo’s Portuguese colony. The Foxes have suffered three defeats in their previous four games in all competitions and therefore, we believe that they are going to return home empty-handed. In their last meeting in Wolverhampton, the Wolves recorded a 2-1 win over the Foxes.

STAR MAN: Raul Jimenez (6.4m)

He has undoubtedly been the talisman for Wolves this season.

PREDICTION: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 Leicester City

Bournemouth vs West Ham

Bournemouth vs West Ham United

Bournemouth will be looking to put an end to their five-game winless run in all competitions when they host West Ham United at the Vitality on Saturday afternoon. The Cherries sit in the middle of the Premier League standings, but they should be cautious as they are only nine points clear of the relegation zone ahead of Matchday 23. Anyhow, seeing as their key attacker Callum Wilson returns from injury, we predict that the hosts are going to find the net. The Hammers proved their worth in a 1-0 victory over Arsenal and considering that Marko Arnautovic has overcome his injury, we believe that there is big value in betting on both teams to score. You should bear in mind that both teams found the net in each of their last four meetings in the English top flight.

STAR MAN: Marko Arnautovic (6.9m)

Just back from injury, the Austrian will be poised to yet again prove his worth.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 1-1 West Ham United

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

Liverpool quickly bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City, with the team beating Brighton on the road on Matchday 22. Mohamed Salah once again led the Reds to victory and, no doubt, all eyes will be on him when the league leaders welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield. Liverpool are a real force to be reckoned with at home and you should bear in mind that they are eyeing their seventh consecutive win in front of their home fans. Despite producing a fine display against Watford at the weekend, the Eagles were eventually beaten by the Hornets. The capital club aim to get back on course, but they should not be looking for points in the clash against the high-flying Reds, who are determined to win the Premier League for the first time.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (13.4m)

Will you be looking past him!?

PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-0 Crystal Palace

Manchester United vs Brighton

Manchester United vs Brighton and Hove Albion

Manchester United will be looking to stay in the race for a place in the Champions League when they host Brighton at Old Trafford this Saturday. The Red Devils have been in fine form ever since Jose Mourinho was sacked and it is no surprise they are considered hot favourites to win Saturday’s game. Man Utd are a real force to be reckoned with at home and seeing as this has to go down as yet another must-win game for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s troops, we believe they are going to emerge triumphant. The Seagulls, on the other hand, produced a fine display against Liverpool at the weekend, but Mohamed Salah eventually helped the Reds pick up all three points. Brighton are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of claiming a major scalp this weekend.

STAR MAN: Marcus Rashford (7.5m)

An on form United striker, in a team with 6 wins on the trot. You know what to do.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 2-0 Brighton Hove Albion

Newcastle vs Cardiff

Newcastle United vs Cardiff City

Newcastle United and Cardiff City face each other in this relegation six-pointer at St. James’ Park on Matchday 23. As expected, the Magpies suffered a 2-1 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but they are definitely capable of grabbing something from Saturday’s game. Rafa Benitez’s men will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways and we are positive that they are going to leave their hearts on the field. The Bluebirds, on the other hand, failed to score in three of their last four league fixtures and therefore, we believe that the hosts are going to keep a clean sheet.

STAR MAN: Salomon Rondon (5.7m)

The onus will be on the front men to bury the half chances.

PREDICTION: Newcastle United 2-1 Cardiff City

Southampton vs Everton

Southampton vs Everton

Thanks to a 2-1 win at Leicester City, Southampton escaped the relegation zone but the season is quite long and the Saints need to keep on improving their game if they are to avoid relegation to the Championship. Southampton want this win more than Everton and considering that the Toffees are not regarded as good travellers, we are tempted to put our money on the relegation-threatened team. Shane Long found the net in the 2-1 win over the Foxes and we predict that the experienced attacker is going to lead the line for the hosts in Saturday’s match against Marco Silva’s troops.

STAR MAN: Shane Long (4.7m)

A goal and assist last time out, he is bound to get the nod once again.

PREDICTION: Southampton 2-1 Everton

Watford vs Burnley

Watford vs Burnley

Watford will be looking to build on a come-from-behind win at Crystal Palace when they host Burnley at Vicarage Road on Matchday 23. The Hornets are eyeing their third consecutive win in all competitions, but Saturday’s game against the in-form Clarets will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Burnley recorded a very important win over Fulham in the relegation six-pointer at the weekend, but they are still sitting in the danger zone in the Premier League standings. The Clarets are on a four-game winning run in all competitions ahead of the trip to Watford and that is the main reason why we predict the visitors are going to grab something from the match. A close encounter is on the cards and, taking everything into account, we believe that the two teams are going to share the spoils.

STAR MAN: Troy Deeney (5.9m)

The veteran’s time to shine yet again!?

PREDICTION: Watford 2-1 Burnley

Arsenal vs Chelsea

Arsenal vs Chelsea

All eyes will be on the Emirates Stadium when Arsenal and Chelsea face each other in the London derby. The Gunners suffered a 1-0 loss to yet another local rival West Ham at the weekend, meaning that they are eager to grab something from Saturday’s game. Unai Emery’s men aim to finish the season in the top four and, no doubt, this game is of big importance for them. Arsenal are on a four-game winning run at home in the Premier League, but beating the Blues in the local derby is easier said than done. Chelsea, on the other hand, recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge at the weekend and, as a result, they are now six points clear of Arsenal in the standings. Maurizio Sarri’s team look solid at the back and we believe that they are going to hold the Gunners to a draw.

STAR MAN: Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (11.3m)

He has to deliver for Arsenal to put in a proper fight for a top 4 spot.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 2-2 Chelsea

Huddersfield vs Manchester City

Huddersfield Town vs Manchester City

David faces Goliath at the John Smith’s Stadium on Matchday 23. Huddersfield Town head into Sunday’s game as the rock-bottom side and it is no surprise they are considered big underdogs in the clash against the title holders. The Terriers have been totally out of form and we do not believe that they are capable of shocking the Citizens, who aim to reduce Liverpool’s advantage in the Premier League standings. Pep Guardiola’s troops are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against Huddersfield Town and we predict that they are going to prove their worth on the field. Aguero is likely to lead the line for the visitors against the Terriers and we believe that they he is going to make life difficult for the opposition defenders. Leroy Sane, who scored the winner against Liverpool, will be yet another man to watch in the away team.

STAR MAN: Raheem Sterling (11.3m)

A big return is surely around the corner.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield Town 1-3 Manchester City

Fulham vs Spurs

Fulham vs Tottenham Hotspur

Craven Cottage will host Sunday’s local derby between Fulham and Tottenham, who have entirely different ambitions in the second half of the season. The Cottagers aim to secure the Premier League survival, whilst Spurs are determined to book their place in the Champions League and perhaps put up a title challenge. Claudio Ranieri’s men are low on confidence ahead of the London derby as they scored two own goals in a 2-1 loss to Burnley in the relegation six-pointer and that is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the visitors. Tottenham are enjoying a very successful season and despite Son and Kane missing, an away win should be considered.

STAR MAN: Christian Eriksen (9.3m)

With Kane and Son not available and Lucas Moura a doubt, the Dane will need to step up.

PREDICTION: Fulham 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
