Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 26 – FPL Tips

After the first double gameweek of this season, we are back just a few days later with the next gameweek. With fixtures coming thick and fast, it’s time to make every decision count.

Good Luck and may your arrows be green! PS: Keep in mind the blank gameweek 27!

Fulham vs Manchester United

Fulham will be aiming to make amends for a 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace when they host Manchester United at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon. The Cottagers have been having their ups and downs of late, but it is more than obvious that they produce much better showings at home than on their travels. The capital club are likely to fight tooth and nail against the Red Devils, but beating Solskjaer’s high-flying troops is easier said than done. A man to watch in the home team will be Serbian attacker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who scored a brace in a 4-2 win over Brighton. Anyhow, Man Utd, who have been in thrilling form ever since Jose Mourinho left Old Trafford and are considered hot favourites to win Saturday’s game and we predict that they are going to prove their worth on the field.

STAR MAN: Marcus Rashford (7.8m)

The January Player of the Month will be poised to yet again prove his worth.

PREDICTION: Fulham 0-2 Manchester United

Crystal Palace vs West Ham

After beating Fulham at home at the weekend, Crystal Palace will be looking to win yet another local derby when they host West Ham United at Selhurst Park. The Eagles are undefeated in their previous three league fixtures, meaning that they are high on confidence ahead of Saturday’s match. Roy Hodgson’s men aim to move away from the danger zone in the Premier League standings and we predict that they are going to adopt an attack-minded approach in the London derby. The Hammers sit in the middle of the table ahead of the Palace clash, but seeing as they are on a four-game losing run on the road in all competitions, we are tempted to put our money on the hosts. In the first half of the season, West Ham recorded a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace, meaning that the hosts may be hungry for revenge.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (6.7m)

His ability to run behind defences could trouble the Hammers defence.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 2-1 West Ham

Huddersfield vs Arsenal

Huddersfield Town continue to struggle in the 2018/2019 Premier League season. The Terriers are stuck at the bottom of the standings and they head into Saturday’s game against Arsenal following a heavy 5-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The rock-bottom side have failed to score in their previous four league fixtures and it is no surprise they are considered big underdogs in the John Smith’s Stadium clash. The Gunners, on the other hand, are eyeing a place in the Champions League and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at Huddersfield Town on matchday 26. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been in splendid form of late and all eyes will be on the former Borussia Dortmund striker when the two sides face each other. Taking everything into account, we believe that there is big value in betting on the capital club.

STAR MAN: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (11.2m)

All eyes on the big man.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 0-3 Arsenal

Liverpool vs Bournemouth

Liverpool will be looking to reclaim top position in the Premier League standings with a win over Bournemouth at Anfield. The Reds dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City in their last home game in the English top flight and, no doubt, they are desperate to pick up all three points from Saturday’s match. As always, a man to watch in the home team will be Egypt international Mohamed Salah, who is likely to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. The Cherries, on the other hand, suffered a 2-0 loss to Cardiff City on the road in their last league match. Both Callum Wilson and David Brooks were sorely missed in the Cardiff City Stadium clash and seeing as the duo is unlikely to recover in time to face Liverpool, we are positive that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (13.6m)

Surely back amongst the points this week.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 4-0 Bournemouth

Southampton vs Cardiff

Southampton were on the verge of beating Burnley at Turf Moor in their last league match, but the Clarets eventually scored a late equalizer. The Saints are only two points clear of the bottom three ahead of the relegation six-pointer against Cardiff City and a win in Saturday’s game will see them move one step closer to yet again securing Premier League survival. Southampton have been showing signs of improvement of late and it has to be noted that they are undefeated in their previous five league fixtures and seeing as Cardiff City are not regarded as good travellers, the home win should be considered.

STAR MAN: Nathan Redmond (5.3m)

His ability to run behind defences could be beneficial in this one.

PREDICTION: Southampton 2-1 Cardiff

Watford vs Everton

Watford and Everton take on each other at Vicarage Road Stadium in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining games of Saturday’s fixture list. The Hornets suffered a dip in form, but despite failing to win in their previous three league fixtures, they are still sitting in the top half of the Premier League standings. Everton, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 3-1 home loss to Wolverhampton and, no doubt, the visitors would be happy with one point from the match. The two teams are almost level on points in the Premier League table and we believe that they are going to play out a draw on Matchday 26. The two teams played out a high-scoring (2-2) draw at Goodison Park in the first half of the season and, taking everything into account, a share of the spoils is on the horizon.

STAR MAN: Gylfi Sigurdsson (7.4m)

About time he steps up for his side.

PREDICTION: Watford 1-1 Everton

Brighton vs Burnley

Brighton and Burnley face each other at the AMEX on matchday 26. Despite producing a splendid performance against Watford at the weekend, the Seagulls eventually shared the spoils with the Hornets in front of home fans. Brighton faced a tough fixture list in January and, as a result, they are only five points clear of the relegation zone ahead of the visit of Burnley. The Clarets shared the spoils with each of their previous three rivals in the Premier League and you should bear in mind that they are undefeated in their last six league fixtures. Burnley aim to move away from the danger zone in the Premier League table, but beating Brighton on the road is easier said than done. A close encounter is on the horizon and we predict that the two sides are going to play out a draw in Saturday’s game.

STAR MAN: Matt Ryan (4.4m)

The Australian is bound to have a busy day between the sticks.

PREDICTION: Brighton 0-0 Burnley

Tottenham vs Leicester

Tottenham will be looking to extend their winning run in the Premier League to four games when they welcome Leicester City at Wembley Stadium on matchday 26. Spurs are still without important duo Harry Kane & Dele Alli, but South Korea international Son looks unstoppable at the moment. Son scored a late winner for the capital club against Newcastle United and, no doubt, all eyes will be on him when Pochettino’s troops take on Leicester City. The Foxes, on the other hand, did well to hold Liverpool to a draw at Anfield in their last away game in the English top flight, but we do not believe that they are capable of claiming yet another major scalp. In their last meeting in London, Tottenham recorded a thrilling 5-4 win over Leicester, which is yet another reason why the home win should be considered.

STAR MAN: Heung min Son (8.8m)

Is there anyone stopping the South Korean!?

PREDICTION: Tottenham 2-0 Leicester

Manchester City vs Chelsea

All eyes will be on the Etihad Stadium when Manchester City and Chelsea face each other on matchday 26. The Citizens aim to stay in the race for the Premier League title and we predict that they are going to adopt an attack-minded approach in Sunday’s game. Pep Guardiola’s troops suffered a 2-1 loss to Newcastle United in their last away game in the English top flight, but seeing as they are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we predict that the title holders are going to emerge triumphant in Sunday’s match. The Blues did well to crush Huddersfield Town 5-0 in front of home fans at the weekend, with Gonzalo Higuain scoring a brace on his debut at Stamford Bridge. However, seeing as the Citizens have turned Etihad Stadium into a real fortress, we believe that Maurizio Sarri’s men are going to return to London empty-handed.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (11.4m)

When on form, there is no one on par with the Argentine.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 3-1 Chelsea

Wolves vs Newcastle

The Molineux Stadium will host Monday’s match between Wolverhampton and Newcastle United. Wolves sit in 7th place in the standings ahead of matchday 26 and they are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in the Premier League. The newcomers have been scoring goals for fun of late and Mexico international Raul Jimenez looks unstoppable at the moment. Wolverhampton proved their worth in a 3-1 away win over Everton and they are definitely capable of beating the Magpies in front of home fans. Rafa Benitez’s troops were on the verge of holding Tottenham to a goalless draw at Wembley Stadium, but South Korean striker Son eventually scored the winner for the hosts. It is well known that Newcastle struggle on their travels and, taking everything into account, the home win should be considered. A man to watch in the away team will be attacker, Salomon Rondon.

STAR MAN: Raul Jimenez (6.7m)

He’ll be poised to add to his tally in this breakthrough season.

PREDICTION: Wolves 2-0 Newcastle
