Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 29 – FPL Tips

Time is ticking, and the blank & double gameweeks have already started. Strategise well and make every decision count.

Good luck and may your arrows be green!

Tottenham vs Arsenal

There will be fireworks when Tottenham and Arsenal face each other at Wembley Stadium in the London derby. Spurs aim to make amends for back-to-back losses to the likes of Burnley and Chelsea when they take on their local rivals on Saturday afternoon. Both Tottenham and Arsenal are eyeing a place in the Champions League, therefore, we predict that fans will see a lively contest. Unai Emery’s troops rolled over Bournemouth 5-1 in midweek, with the team retaining their place in the top four. The Gunners are likely to stick to their attacking style of play in the London derby and, taking everything into account, we believe that there is big value in betting on both teams to score. In the first half of the season, Arsenal outplayed Tottenham 4-2 at Emirates Stadium, which is yet another reason why we expect a high-scoring affair in London.

STAR MAN: Alexandre Lacazette (9.5m)

High on goal-scoring form, he is the one to consider.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 1-2 Arsenal

Bournemouth vs Manchester City

Manchester City will be aiming to extend their winning run in the Premier League to five games when they take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Citizens are eyeing their fourth consecutive clean sheet and a win over Bournemouth could see them overtake Liverpool in top position in the standings. Aguero scored the winner against West Ham and all eyes will be on the Argentine attacker when the two teams face each other on Matchday 29. Bournemouth are tough to beat at home, but seeing as they often struggle in matches against top-table sides, we are tempted to put our money on the visitors. In each of their previous seven meetings in the Premier League, Man City emerged triumphant, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the title holders.

STAR MAN: Raheem Sterling (11.3m)

Rested for the midweek clash, he is one to consider for the armband.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 0-3 Manchester City

Brighton vs Huddersfield

The AMEX Stadium will host Saturday’s game between Brighton and Huddersfield Town. The Seagulls have suffered five defeats in their previous six league fixtures and they will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways. Brighton are only two points clear of the relegation zone and we predict that they are going to leave their hearts on the field in this relegation six-pointer against Huddersfield. The Terriers have slim chances of securing Premier League survival, but their pride will be at stake in the remainder of the season. The rock-bottom side proved their worth in a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton in midweek, but given their poor away record, we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed from the trip to Brighton. In their last meeting in the top flight, the Seagulls emerged triumphant.

STAR MAN: Glen Murray (6.3m)

He will need to step up for this must win game for his side.

PREDICTION: Brighton Hove Albion 1-0 Huddersfield Town

Burnley vs Crystal Palace

After suffering a 2-0 loss to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, Burnley will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Crystal Palace at Turf Moor. The Clarets are only five points clear of the relegation zone, meaning that Saturday’s match is of big importance for the hosts. The Eagles, on the other hand, suffered a 3-1 home loss to Manchester United despite the fact that the Red Devils were without several first-team regulars. Anyhow, seeing as Burnley and Crystal Palace are level on points in the Premier League table ahead of matchday 29, we predict that they are going to share the spoils in Saturday’s game. You should bear in mind that under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of their previous four meetings in the league.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (6.7m)

Time to put the Clarets defence to the test!?

PREDICTION: Burnley 1-1 Crystal Palace

Manchester United vs Southampton

Old Trafford will host Saturday’s game between Manchester United and Southampton, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the 2018/2019 Premier League season. Manchester United aim to stay in the race for a place in the Champions League, whilst the Saints are eager to secure Premier League survival yet again. The Red Devils proved their worth in a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening and they will be looking to build on the triumph when they host the relegation-threatened side at Old Trafford. Southampton recorded a 2-0 win over Fulham at home in their last league match, but they will have a much bigger task when they face off against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s troops. In the first half of the season, Southampton and Manchester United played out a 2-2 draw at St. Mary’s Stadium, but it is well known that the Red Devils are a real force to be reckoned with at home.

STAR MAN: Paul Pogba (8.9m)

Suspended for PSG in the upcoming midweek game, he will be looking to step up his game in this one.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 3-0 Southampton

Wolves vs Cardiff

Wolves will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Huddersfield Town when they host Cardiff City at the Molineux on Saturday afternoon. Wolves failed to impress in the midweek fixture against the rock-bottom side, but it is well known that they produce much better showings at home than on their travels. Wolverhampton aim to retain seventh position in the standings and we predict that they are going to beat Cardiff, with a man to watch in the home team being Mexico international Raul Jimenez, who has netted 10 goals so far this term. The Bluebirds, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in back-to-back defeats to the likes of Watford and Everton and we do not believe that they are capable of claiming a major scalp on matchday 29.

STAR MAN: Raul Jimenez (6.9m)

Could bag a couple in an expected goal fest.

PREDICTION: Wolves 4-0 Cardiff

West Ham vs Newcastle

Despite producing a fine display against Manchester City on Wednesday evening, West Ham United were eventually beaten by the title holders at the Etihad Stadium. The Hammers are stuck in the middle of the Premier League standings but no doubt they will want to start a new winning run this weekend. Manuel Pellegrini’s troops did well to beat Fulham in their last home game, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Newcastle United. The Magpies, on the other hand, head into Saturday’s match following back-to-back wins over Huddersfield Town and Burnley, but seeing as they are not regarded as good travellers, we are tempted to put our money on Felipe Anderson and co this time out as they have turned their London Stadium into a real fortress.

STAR MAN: Robert Snodgrass (5.0m)

His deliveries will need to be on point against a stringent Newcastle defence.

PREDICTION: West Ham 2-1 Newcastle

Watford vs Leicester

As expected, Watford were beaten by Liverpool in midweek, but nobody expected that they would suffer such a heavy loss. The Hornets aim to get back on course and they are considered favourites to win Sunday’s game against Leicester City. The Foxes, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against Brighton on Tuesday evening and they managed to get one. Leicester City gave fans some cheer in midweek and moved one step closer to securing Premier League survival. However, seeing as the Foxes have been struggling at the back in the league of late, we predict that the hosts are going to pick up all three points from Sunday’s clash. In their last meeting at Vicarage Road Stadium, Watford recorded a 2-1 win over Leicester City, which is yet another reason why the home win should be considered.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (8.8m)

Time for Brendan to join the party!?

PREDICTION: Watford 1-2 Leicester

Fulham vs Chelsea

After recording a 2-0 win over Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea will be looking to emerge triumphant in yet another local derby when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on matchday 30. The Blues proved their worth in the London derby against Spurs, with Maurizio Sarri surely regaining confidence following a “misunderstanding” with first-choice goalkeeper Kepa. Chelsea are determined to grab a spot in the Champions League next season and we predict that they are going to pick up all three points from Sunday’s game against Fulham, who do not seem to be on top of their game at the moment. In the first half of the season, the Blues defeated the Cottagers 2-0, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the visitors.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.8m)

At last, this could be the day when he FINALLY delivers FPL wise.

PREDICTION: Fulham 0-2 Chelsea

Everton vs Liverpool

All eyes will be on Goodison Park when Everton and Liverpool face each other in the Merseyside derby. The Toffees did well to beat Cardiff City 3-0 on Tuesday evening, with the team putting an end to their three-match losing run in the English top flight. Everton aim to retain their spot in top ten and we predict that they are going to leave their hearts on the field in the local derby. The Reds, on the other hand, proved their worth in a 5-0 win over Watford, with Sadio Mane scoring a brace. Firmino is likely to miss the Merseyside derby with injury, but seeing as Jurgen Klopp’s men are desperate to retain top position in the standings, we believe that there is big value in betting on the visitors. Mohamed Salah doesn’t seem to be on top of his game at the moment, but the opposition defenders may struggle to keep him at bay.

STAR MAN: Andrew Robertson (6.8m)

Another field day at left back seems inevitable.

PREDICTION: Everton 1-2 Liverpool
