Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 30 – FPL Tips

Gameweek 30 is here and all managers will be starting their preparations for the business end of the season. With a blank gameweek 31 for many teams, FPL managers will definitely be keen to make certain risky transfers which some might profit from. So good luck and hope your arrows are green.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton

Crystal Palace will be aiming to build on a 3-1 win at Burnley when they welcome Brighton to Selhurst Park. The Eagles moved one step closer to securing Premier League status at the weekend, but coach Roy Hodgson must warn his men against complacency. The Seagulls, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against rock-bottom Huddersfield Town and they managed to get one. Brighton undisputedly produce better displays at home than on their travels and seeing as Crystal Palace have been in a fine form ever since Michy Batshuayi joined the club, the home win should be considered. Wilfried Zaha scored his eighth goal of the season in the 3-1 win over the Clarets and we are positive that the former Man Utd man is going to make life difficult for Brighton’s defenders in Saturday’s match.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (6.9m)

Always a threat in front of goal.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 2-0 Brighton

Cardiff vs West Ham

Cardiff City take on West Ham United in what is expected to be an interesting game. The Bluebirds suffered a 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton at the weekend, with the team extending their losing run in the Premier League to three games. Cardiff City have been struggling at the back of late, therefore, it is no surprise they are considered underdogs in Saturday’s game against West Ham. The Hammers, on the other hand, recorded a routine 2-0 win over Newcastle United at the weekend, with the team retaining their spot in top ten. Chicharito, who forced Marko Arnautovic out of the starting line-up, is likely to lead the line for the visitors and we predict that the Mexico international is going to help the visitors pick up all three points from the match against the relegation strugglers.

STAR MAN: Felipe Anderson (7.2m)

Time to up his game, against a side out of their stride.

PREDICTION: Cardiff 1-3 West Ham

Huddersfield vs Bournemouth

After suffering yet another disappointing loss on matchday 29, Huddersfield Town will be looking to keep their hopes of securing Premier League survival alive with a win over Bournemouth at the John Smith’s Stadium. The Terriers aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Brighton and we predict that they are going to leave their hearts on the field as this has to go down as a must-win game for the rock-bottom side. This could be the last chance for Huddersfield to stay in the race for the survival and seeing as the Cherries have suffered a dip in form, the home win should be considered. Bournemouth have suffered four defeats in their previous five league fixtures, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the relegation-threatened team. In their last meeting at the John Smith’s Stadium, the Terriers emerged triumphant.

STAR MAN: Aaron Mooy (5.0m)

It is indeed a do or die situation for the Terriers and their star man.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 2-1 Bournemouth

Leicester vs Fulham

Leicester City were on the verge of sharing the spoils with Watford on matchday 29, but the Hornets eventually scored a late winner and picked up all three points from the game. The Foxes aim to bounce back from the defeat and given Fulham’s poor form, we predict that the hosts are going to return to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend. A man to watch in the home team will be experienced attacker Jamie Vardy, who found the net in the 2-1 loss to Watford. The Cottagers suffered a 2-1 loss to their local rivals Chelsea in Scott Parker’s managerial debut and, as things stand now, they are unlikely to compete in the English top flight next term. Leicester City look like the better outfit currently and considering that the capital club struggle on their travels, we believe that there is big value in betting on Brendan Rodgers’ troops.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (8.9m)

A home game against Fulham, you’d expect him to be on the scoresheet.

PREDICTION: Leicester 2-0 Fulham

Newcastle vs Everton

St. James’ Park will host Saturday’s football game between Newcastle United and Everton. The Magpies aim to make amends for a 2-0 loss to West Ham United and the fact that they recorded back-to-back wins over Huddersfield Town and Burnley in the previous two home games is giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Everton. Anyhow, seeing as under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of Newcastle’s last five league games, a low-scoring affair is on the horizon at St. James’ Park. The Toffees, on the other hand, did well to hold their local rivals to a goalless draw in the Merseyside derby. Everton have been in fine form of late and despite the fact that the Magpies are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we predict that the visitors are going to grab something from the match.

STAR MAN: Salomon Rondon (5.9m)

The Venezuelan is the hot property to look towards.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 2-2 Everton

Southampton vs Tottenham

St. Mary’s Stadium will host Saturday’s game between Southampton and Tottenham; two teams who have different ambitions in the second half of the season. Spurs aim to book their place in the Champions League, whilst the Saints are eager to secure Premier League survival. Despite producing a fine performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Southampton eventually suffered a 3-2 loss to the Red Devils on matchday 30. The Saints obviously struggle at the back and seeing as Harry Kane is now injury free, we believe that there is big value in betting on the capital club. In the first half of the season, Tottenham recorded a 3-1 win over Southampton at Wembley Stadium and we believe that history is going to repeat itself. You should bear in mind that Spurs are undefeated in their previous five meetings with the Saints in the English top flight.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (12.4m)

Goals against Arsenal and Dortmund in the last week. Time to bet on him again?

PREDICTION: Southampton 1-3 Tottenham

Manchester City vs Watford

Manchester City will be looking to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bournemouth when they host Watford at the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens extended their winning run in the Premier League to five games, with the team keeping their fourth consecutive clean sheet in the league. Pep Guardiola’s men, though, need to keep on winning if they are to defend their trophy and we predict that they are going to go all guns blazing at Watford on matchday 30. The Hornets, on the other hand, quickly bounced back from a 5-0 loss to Liverpool, with the team beating Leicester City 2-1 in front of home fans at the weekend. However, grabbing something from the Etihad Stadium clash is easier said than done and, taking everything into account, we believe that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed from the trip to Manchester.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (11.8m)

He is bang on form and one of the best captain choices available as well.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 4-0 Watford

Liverpool vs Burnley

After dropping two points in a goalless draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby, Liverpool will be aiming to regain top position in the Premier League standings with a win over Burnley at Anfield. The Reds obviously suffered a dip in form, but the good news for Jurgen Klopp’s troops is that important attacker Roberto Firmino has overcome his injury. Liverpool have no other choice but to go all guns blazing at Burnley and we predict that the hosts are going to emerge triumphant in Sunday’s game without any difficulties. The Clarets experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling the Reds’ party at Anfield. When the two teams met at Turf Moor in the first half of the season, Liverpool recorded a 3-1 win over Burnley.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (13.4m)

He has to go big this time around.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-0 Burnley

Chelsea vs Wolves

As expected, Chelsea defeated Fulham at Craven Cottage in the local derby, with the team keeping their hopes of securing a top-four finish alive. The Blues have been in fine form in the Premier League of late, but they need to keep on winning if they are to be in the Champions League next term. Chelsea are after their fourth consecutive win at home and seeing as Wolverhampton are not regarded as good travellers, we are tempted to put our money on Maurizio Sarri’s men. Wolves did well to beat relegation strugglers Cardiff City at home in their last league fixture, but we do not believe that they are capable of upsetting the capital club on matchday 30. In the first half of the season, Wolves defeated the Blues 2-1, meaning that Eden Hazard and co. are hungry for revenge.

STAR MAN: Gonzalo Higuain (9.6m)

Looking for goals. He’s the man.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-1 Wolves

Arsenal vs Manchester United

Following three consecutive wins in the Premier League, Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw with their local rivals Tottenham at Wembley Stadium on matchday 29, but the Gunners could have picked up all three points from the London derby. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a penalty saved in stoppage time, but the Gabon international is likely to keep his place in the starting XI. The capital club aim to regain their spot in the top four, but beating in-form Manchester United is easier said than done. The Red Devils came from behind to beat Southampton at Old Trafford at the weekend, with the team scoring the winner in the dying minutes of the match. Anyhow, a close encounter is on the cards at the Emirates but we’re tempted to bet on United’s unbeaten away record since Solskjaer has taken over.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (10.7m)

2 goals in each of the last 3 games. He is making a great impression.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 1-3 Manchester United
