Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 5 – FPL Tips

Gameweek 4 was host to some great fixtures and after what feels like a long international break, we welcome the return of the Premier League this weekend. With preparing your team in mind and as the competition moves into its 5th gameweek, let’s assess where the points opportunities are for this coming gameweek.

Good luck and may your arrows be green! Here’s our Fantasy Premier League Preview:

Tottenham vs Liverpool

The 5th gameweek of the season starts with a cracker of a fixture with two of the league’s top sides going head to head. Spurs are on the back of an unexpected result away at Vicarage Road and will be looking to put things right. On the contrary, Klopp and his boys have begun the season inch-perfect and don’t seem to shy away from such big occasions. We can surely expect end to end stuff in this one, with nothing but entertainment promised in this lunchtime kick off.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (12.5m)

The England captain will need to step up if Spurs are to rack up the 3 points.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-2 Liverpool

Bournemouth vs Leicester

Early in the season, but the Cherries are undefeated at home, with a win & a draw in their opening 2 games, placing them 6th on the league table. Their opponents this week, the Foxes, have had some attacking instability early on in the season, simply because of Jamie Vardy’s sending off against Wolves. With Englishman now back in contention, we can surely expect some more points coming the Foxes’ way.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (8.9m)

His next 10 fixtures are nothing but peachy.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 1-1 Leicester

Chelsea vs Cardiff

Chelsea come into this game with a perfect record as they sit 2nd from the top of the league table. Cardiff on the other hand are still winless, and we can certainly see that continuing for yet another gameweek.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.7m)

He is undoubtedly Chelsea’s creative spark, and is more than able enough to batter that Cardiff defence.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 3-0 Cardiff

Huddersfield vs Crystal Palace

A tie at the very bottom of the league table, with nothing but just the 1 point separating the 2 sides. Crystal Palace’s over-dependence on Zaha saw them lose out to the Saints last time out, but with the Ivorian now back, we can expect nothing but some goals & points.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (7.0m)

He is undoubtedly the focal point of that Palace attack.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 1-2 Crystal Palace

Manchester City vs Fulham

Needless to say, all we can see in this one is a ruthless City side hammering the Cottagers. You might just want to load up on City assets.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (11.3m)

Would you dare not to captain him..!?

PREDICTION: Manchester City 4-0 Fulham

Newcastle vs Arsenal

Newcastle haven’t won a single game yet so far this season and it sure does seem unlikely for them to be winning this game against a Gunners team who have just started to find form and have been great going forward. This could be a good chance for Emery’s men to get three consecutive wins under their belt and keep the momentum building.

STAR MAN: Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (10.9m)

That kind of a run of fixtures where you just feel he might explode.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 1-3 Arsenal

Watford vs Manchester United

Watford have been terrific so far this season and have been impressive going forward with a good defensive system to back them up. Manchester United are off to a disappointing start to their campaign when you look at their squad. They are sure to be put to the test against this Hornets team away from home.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (10.2m)

The Chilean could be key for the Red Devils in providing that incisive edge to break this Watford defence down.

PREDICTION: Watford 1-2 Manchester United

Wolves vs Burnley

Wolves haven’t played badly at all for a newly promoted side and seem to have already found their formula in the Premier League, having lost just one game from their four played. Burnley in contrast have been surprisingly poor and have failed to replicate the heroics of last season. With the current form of both the teams, Wolves seem to be the favourites to grab the three points in this game.

STAR MAN: Ruben Neves (5.2m)

Arguably their best player moving forward, he has a great influence every time he is on the pitch.

PREDICTION: Wolves 1-0 Burnley

Everton vs West Ham

Everton have been on and off in attack so far this season, having won just the one game and drawn the rest. The team sure will take confidence from this unbeaten run. West Ham on the other hand are rock bottom and have failed to register a single point on the board so far. This seems like a very straightforward Everton victory on the cards.

STAR MAN:Cenk Tosun (7.0m)

It’s about time the Turkish man stepped up for his team who are crippled by their injuries.

PREDICTION: Everton 2-0 West Ham

Southampton vs Brighton

Both teams on 4 points means average starts to the season but both do have a win under their belts. Judging by the performances of both teams in the previous fixtures, they do look like they might end up sharing the spoils.

STAR MAN: Cedric Soares (4.4m)

Will be a defensively minded game with the fullbacks being able to provide the width in attack. This is where this guy might come in handy for the Saints.

PREDICTION: Southampton 0-0 Brighton and Hove Albion
