FPL Gameweek 20 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

The busy period of fixtures is finally upon us with less than 20 hours separating 2 gameweeks. So we are back yet again with another set of highly significant Premier League fixtures, analysing how each game could end up and highlighting a few players who are likely to start as well as be among points in this midweek gameweek.

Best of luck & may your arrows be green! Here is the FPL gameweek 20 preview:

Middlesbrough vs Leicester

The Foxes finally registered some points on the league table on New Year’s Eve, after having scraped a win against the Hammers, while Boro on the other hand have been playing some good football lately but haven’t had the results to go with it. This game could be the perfect chance to turn things around and get back to winning ways.

STAR MAN: Alvaro Negredo (6.4m)

The Spaniard bagged a brace in the last home game, and could get a fair amount of chances in this fixture as well to repeat the feat.

PREDICTION: Middlesbrough 2-1 Leicester

Everton vs Southampton

Everton have been nothing but disappointing this season, having yet again given another dismal performance last time out against Hull. Meanwhile their counterparts, Southampton, have a somewhat similar story, having lost at home to the Baggies. Both sides will be determined to get a positive result and this could just bring the best out of both of them.

STAR MAN: Leighton Baines (5.5m)

With point returns in each of the last 2 games, he is definitely showing signs of another attacking return.

PREDICTION: Everton 3-2 Southampton

Manchester City vs Burnley

The Citizens simply weren’t good enough last time and deservedly didn’t take home any points from their trip to Merseyside and subsequently fell to 5th place. Pep’s side will definitely be looking to straight away get back to winning ways with a convincing victory and Burnley don’t seem to be a side stopping them from doing just that.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (12.8m)

After having not registered a single touch in the Liverpool penalty box last time out, it will be hard to digest if he doesn’t get a massive point haul.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 3-1 Burnley

Sunderland vs Liverpool

Liverpool have been playing some amazing football recently, having yet again displayed their might against Pep’s City side, and this week they come up against the Black Cats who have been leaking 3+ goals in each of the last 2 games, and this game seems like it’ll be no different. An easy Liverpool win seems to be on the cards.

STAR MAN: Sadio Mane (9.4m)

The last game before the Senegalese midfielder leaves to represent his country in the AFCON. He, without any doubt, will be looking to leave his fans with something to cherish.

PREDICTION: Sunderland 1-2 Liverpool

West Brom vs Hull

The Baggies have been playing some great football this season, as the Tony Pulis side is defending & surprisingly attacking as well in the best of ways. The Tigers on the other hand are winless in the last 8 league games & with the form the Baggies are in, it seems the Tigers will have to wait a bit more for a win.

STAR MAN: Nacer Chadli (6.1m)

The Belgian hasn’t been among points recently, but a home fixture against Hull could be something which could turn things around & with an ownership of a mere 1.6%, he seems to be a perfect differential over the coming weeks.

PREDICTION: West Brom 2-0 Hull

West Ham vs Manchester United

The Hammers with their squad this season would’ve had high hopes but with their poor start to the season, a finish in the top ten would be a good season for them. The Red Devils are still placed sixth after five wins on the spin and are now within touching distance of the top four. With the form that Mourinho’s team is in, you would expect them to be able to brush aside this West Ham team.

STAR MAN: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (11.6m)

He has been the man for United in the past few fixtures and will continue to be a potent threat.

PREDICTION: West Ham 1-2 Manchester United

Bournemouth vs Arsenal

The Cherries are experiencing a bad run lately with just 6 points out of the last 15 possible. Arsenal are regaining form and the return of Mustafi will certainly sure up that defence. This seems to be a straightforward victory for the Gunners but the Cherries will prove to be difficult to break down at home. Bournemouth’s creative spark will be missed with the absence of Jack Wilshere.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez(11.9m)

Has been unlucky in not finding the net in his last three games and will be looking to score and catch up to Costa in that race for the golden boot.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 0-2 Arsenal

Crystal Palace vs Swansea

The renewed Palace team is just taking shape under the new management of “Big Sam” and will prove to be a more defensively minded team. Swansea are yet to replace Bob Bradley and are looking far from making it out of that drop zone any time soon. Looks like a Palace win on paper.

STAR MAN: Christian Benteke (7.6m)

His power & great heading ability should prove to be a threat for the leaky Swansea defence line.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 3-1 Swansea

Stoke vs Watford

Both these teams enter this game with no wins in their last four games and are desperately in need of a victory just to get the momentum going and stay out of that relegation scrap that is now starting to get very tight. Stoke with the home advantage do seem to have the upper hand. This game might prove to be fairly open with both teams getting their fair share of chances.

STAR MAN: Jose Holebas (4.8m)

He could be able to supply the potent ball for the Watford forwards and help provide the crucial breakthrough.

PREDICTION: Stoke City 1-1 Watford

Tottenham vs Chelsea

Spurs have been great at home but now face the tough test of a Chelsea team that are on the brink of beating the Premier League record for the most wins in a row. This will add a spring to Chelsea’s step and provide more reason for the players to go and win this game. Despite that, Spurs themselves are well equipped to handle this Chelsea team and maybe manage a result. Should be a feisty affair with both teams looking to win the game.

STAR MAN: Diego Costa (10.7m)

The Premier League’s leading goalscorer is always up for it when it comes to derbies and will be crucial upfront for Chelsea.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 2-2 Chelsea
