FPL Gameweek 24 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 23 had some big results for teams at the bottom of the table and shocking results for those at the top, with Chelsea managing to extend their lead to 9 points as other sides miss out. Gameweek 24 doesn’t get any easier with tough fixtures lined up and the recovery time between gameweeks being minimal.

Chelsea vs Arsenal

The lunchtime kick off brings a showdown between 2 Premier League giants in a London Derby. Both sides are on the back of disappointing results, and will definitely be looking to get straight back with a win. An Arsenal win could give a small glimmer of hope to their fans in their pursuit of Chelsea. It looks to be a cracker of a game with Chelsea looking all set to take the advantage of playing at the Bridge.

STAR MAN: Diego Costa (10.4m)

The Spaniard has been out of sorts lately, with a penalty miss last time out adding to his misery. He will definitely be raring to go & overpower the shaky Gunners defence to continue his fight for the Golden Boot.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal

Crystal Palace vs Sunderland

A battle between sides at the bottom of the table desperate for points. Palace registered a convincing away win last time out against the Cherries, while the Black Cats shocked everyone by playing out a draw in the game against Spurs. It seems it’ll be an open ended game with both sides unleashing all their weapons for the vital 3 points.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (5.5m)

Surprising he didn’t find the net at some point after hammering the upright against the Cherries. He seems lively and a BIG HAUL might be just around the corner.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 3-1 Sunderland

Everton vs Bournemouth

The Cherries are winless in their last 4 games and have fallen down to 14th in the table, while the Toffees on the other hand are on a roll, comfortably placed in 7th. An easy home win seems to be on the cards.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (9.6m)

The Belgian is in great form & it will be hard to digest for FPL owners of him if he doesn’t get on the scoresheet this weekend.

PREDICTION: Everton 2-0 Bournemouth

Hull vs Liverpool

Liverpool are winless in their last 4 games too, losing 2 of them, and a game against Hull seems like the perfect opportunity to end that run. However, keep in mind that Liverpool have a peculiar habit of faltering against sides from the lower half of the table, and Hull have caused Manchester United issues lately.

STAR MAN: Sadio Mane (9.0m)

The Senegalese is finally back from AFCON & will be looking to provide Liverpool with the cutting edge which the Reds have been lacking.

PREDICTION: Hull 0-3 Liverpool

Southampton vs West Ham

West Ham’s post Payet era had a great start with the Hammers hammering in 3 in each of their last 2 games before City came to town. Meanwhile, Southampton have struggled recently with 5 losses in their last 6. This fixture seems like it’ll be an end to end game with plenty of long balls being played.

STAR MAN: Andy Carroll (6.3m)

The Englishman has been among the goals recently and could yet again deliver against the shaky Saints defence.

PREDICTION: Southampton 1-2 West Ham United

Watford vs Burnley

Watford are on the back of an impressive and motivating win against the Gunners at the Emirates. This win must have definitely lifted the spirits of the Hornets and given them hope to finish in the top half of the table. Burnley on the other hand are in great form and have won three of their last five games but their away form certainly remains a concern.

STAR MAN: M’Baye Niang (6.0m)

The new man certainly displayed his skills against Arsenal last time out and looks set to put the Burnley full backs under pressure with his pace and power.

PREDICTION: Watford 2-1 Burnley

West Brom vs Stoke

West Brom have been impressive and have lost just one of their last five fixtures. Placed in eighth place, they look set to finish in the top half of the table with their current form. Stoke City, after a poor start to the season, have managed to recover well and are 4 points behind the Baggies. A win for the Potters could help them close the gap and look for a higher finish.

STAR MAN: Matty Phillips(5.9m)

Has been kept quiet in the last three games and will be looking to get back to form by pestering the Stoke defence.

PREDICTION: West Brom 1-0 Stoke City

Tottenham vs Middlesbrough

Spurs are on the back of a disappointing and frustrating draw against struggling Sunderland and have lost ground on the title race again. They will be looking to make things right at home against a struggling Middlesbrough side who are winless in their last six games. Looks like an easy win for Spurs on paper.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (11.2m)

Must have been disappointed to not get on the scoresheet against Sunderland and will be looking to make amends this time around at home.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 2-0 Middlesbrough

Manchester City vs Swansea

City have not been at their best and Pep has struggled with his team selection this season. They realise that they need to get back to winning ways and will show their steel against a Swansea team that are just beginning to gather momentum this season, with two consecutive wins recently to get them out of the bottom three. However, a win in an away game against the Citizens might be a tad too much to ask for from the Swans.

STAR MAN: Kevin de Bruyne (10.5m)

City’s creator-in-chief will have to play a crucial role if Pep’s men have any hopes of playing in the Champions League next season.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 3-1 Swansea

Leicester vs Manchester United

Leicester haven’t quite had a dream continuation to their dream season last time around and have failed to get going this season. After losing yet again last week, they find themselves perilously close to the drop zone. They come up against an in form Manchester United team who won’t make it any easier for the Foxes and will push for the win away from home.

STAR MAN: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (11.7m)

He has the fixture as well as the form & is almost certain to be among points.

PREDICTION: Leicester City 0-2 Manchester United
