Gameweek 18 FPL Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

The busy period of fixtures is here with only a couple of days separating 2 gameweeks. Another set of highly significant Premier League fixtures is upon us and it’s key to find and recruit the stand-out players ahead of the gameweek start.

Best of luck & may your arrows be green!

Leicester vs Crystal Palace

The Foxes have been playing amazing football and are on the back of four consecutive victories. Palace on the other hand have not lost any of their last five games. This surely makes up for a great contest and you can be sure to expect goals out of this one.

STAR MAN: Riyad Mahrez (8.5m)

The bleached hair seems to be working, eh?

PREDICTION: Leicester 3-2 Crystal Palace

Arsenal vs Newcastle

The Gunners are definitely hurting after failing to get three points again last time around and have won just 2 of their last nine Premier League matches. Thats a record they will be looking to put behind them as they face a very poor Newcastle side who are certainly staring down the barrel. Looks like an easy Arsenal win this one.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (11.8m)

After a frustrating outing last time around, there will be a fire burning in the Chilean’s belly to produce the goods.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle

Brighton vs Burnley

Brighton have been good at home and don’t tend to concede many goals at the Amex. Burnley on the other hand are absolutely flying and find themselves in 6th place, above the Gunners. The Clarets defence has certainly been the highlight of their season so far and Brighton will find it difficult to break it down.

STAR MAN: James Tarkowski (4.7m)

A cheap option into the Burnley defence and currently in-form.

PREDICTION: Brighton 0-0 Burnley

Chelsea vs Southampton

Chelsea bounced back from their defeat at West Ham to win last gameweek away from home and put in a decent performance as well in doing so. Southampton have struggled to hit any sort of form all season and so a win at the Bridge might not be a result they will be expecting this week.

STAR MAN: Alvaro Morata (10.6m)

Having rested an injury last gameweek, he must be fresh and ready to start with goals in his mind.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-0 Southampton

Stoke vs West Ham

Stoke do find themselves in a bit of bother after losing their previous game and finding themselves just 2 points above the relegation zone. The Hammers on the other hand are high in confidence after having beaten Chelsea and earning a point against Arsenal last gameweek. The other pleasing factor regarding this result is 2 consecutive clean sheets!

STAR MAN: Marko Arnautovic (6.8m)

After finally bagging his first goal for the Hammers against Chelsea, he may well be back to his confident self and could cause a nervy Stoke side some trouble.

PREDICTION: Stoke 0-1 West Ham

Watford vs Huddersfield

The Hornets come into this weekend fixture on the back of a disappointing defeat against Hodgson’s men, all courtesy to 2 pretty late goals. Huddersfield too are on the back of a defeat against a free flowing Chelsea side. Both these sides are playing some decent football and we can surely expect a free flowing end to end game.

STAR MAN: Richarlison (6.6m)

If fit, he could be the man to trouble the Terriers in front of the home crowd.

PREDICTION: Watford 3-1 Huddersfield

Manchester City vs Tottenham

A busy Saturday ends with 2 giants of the league going head to head. City have been playing some amazing football, extending their winning run to a Premier League record 15 games. Spurs on the contrary are still recovering from their recent slump of form, and it seems that this free flowing Guardiola side will be giving Pochettino and his boys another reality check.

STAR MAN: Raheem Sterling (8.3m)

The winger has started the last 7 league games on the trot, and seems nailed on to start.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 2-1 Tottenham

West Brom vs Manchester United

The Baggies are winless since gameweek 2 and are on a miserable run of form. On the other hand, Jose’s United side come into this game looking for nothing less than the 3 points as they hope Guardiola’s City side falter this weekend. An easy United win seems to be on the cards.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (11.3m)

The Big Belgian is back among the goals and will be looking to make amends for his display against their cross city rivals.

PREDICTION: West Brom 0-2 Manchester United

Bournemouth vs Liverpool

The last 2 games haven’t gone according to plan as the Reds have had to bow out with a draw in each of them. With the other top 6 sides picking up points and the gap increasing, Klopp will be looking to bounce back with a win and we imagine they will be too much for the Cherries to handle.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (10.0m)

The Egyptian has blanked only once in the last 9! Captain material!? Indeed.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 1-4 Liverpool

Everton vs Swansea

We have a Monday Night fixture with the Swans travelling to Goodison. The Toffees are undefeated since the appointment of Big Sam (last 4) and have even secured 3 clean sheets along the way. With the Everton faithful behind the home team, we could definitely see another win for Big Sam.

STAR MAN: Wayne Rooney (7.4m)

5 goals & an assist in the last 4. The former England captain is surely one to consider.

PREDICTION: Everton 3-0 Swansea
