Gameweek 3 FPL Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

The 3rd gameweek of this new FPL season dawns upon us and along with it comes an FPL gameweek 3 preview! A few tasty fixtures, in which wise and slightly cheeky investments could reap massive reward.

So good luck & may your arrows be green!

Bournemouth vs Manchester City

The Cherries come into the lunchtime kick off on the back of defeats in each of the last 2 gameweeks. Howe and his men will definitely be looking to turn their fortunes around and get their season going, but with the amount of firepower Pep has at his disposal, it seems the Cherries will have to wait yet again to get their first win.

STAR MAN: Gabriel Jesus (10.5m)

The Brazilian has been lively in the opening weeks of the season and it is only a matter of time until he starts finding the back of the net.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 0-2 Manchester City

Crystal Palace vs Swansea

Palace have lost their opening two fixtures and haven’t played well in either games, failing to score in both. The Swans on the other hand lost by a margin of four goals against the Red Devils last time out and will be looking to make amends for that. After the loss of their talisman Sigurdsson, they do seem to be a bit short in the attacking front.

STAR MAN: Christian Benteke (7.9m)

After not scoring in the first two games, he will be hungry for goals.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 2-1 Swansea

Huddersfield vs Southampton

The Terriers are flying at the moment with 2 wins from 2, as they sit 2nd in the league. The Saints on the other hand are catching up after a last minute win against the Hammers. Wagner and his boys will surely be looking to continue their great run of form, but we can’t see them getting a third win on the trot, surely?!?

STAR MAN: Dusan Tadic (6.5m)

The Saints’ creator will have to play a key role if they are to overcome the side in form.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 1-2 Southampton

Newcastle vs West Ham

Both teams are on the back of successive defeats in their first two fixtures this season and this match could very well be a much needed morale booster. The Hammers have been quite poor defensively and away from home might find it difficult to tame a Newcastle side who are in need of a win. The Hammers have the attacking prowess to overcome the Magpies, and we might just have a good game on our hands here.

STAR MAN: Christian Atsu (5.0m)

Atsu has been the man to watch out for in the Newcastle line-up and its about time he shows his talent.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 2-2 West Ham

Watford vs Brighton

The Hornets have had an amazing start to the season considering their prospects, with 4 points from the first 2 games. Brighton on the other hand are winless, and the goalscoring form Watford seem to be in may be too much for them.

STAR MAN: Andre Gray (6.5m)

The Englishman was phenomenal last time out against the Cherries and no doubt he will look to continue this form in the coming gameweek.

PREDICTION: Watford 2-0 Brighton

Manchester United vs Leicester

The Reds of Manchester have been ruthless in the opening weeks of the season, scoring 4 unanswered goals in each of their first 2 games. This week, Mourinho and his boys welcome the Foxes at Old Trafford and Shakespeare’s side doesn’t look like one to trouble the league leaders. Potentially an easy home win for the Red Devils.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (11.6m)

3 goals in the opening 2 games! Your search for gameweek 3’s captain ends here.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 3-0 Leicester

Chelsea vs Everton

After an impressive performance at Wembley Stadium last weekend against a good Spurs team, the Blues will be looking to carry forward the momentum after a disappointing first gameweek. They are however up against an Everton side who have looked good on the eye and will surely give Conte’s men a tough game.

STAR MAN: Willian (7.1m)

Willian has been playing well in the team thus far and is bound to produce the spark for the Blues.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 1-1 Everton

West Brom vs Stoke

The Baggies are in top form, having made it two wins out of two and not conceded a single goal thus far. Stoke on the other hand are always unpredictable, but came out surprise winners last time around against the Gunners.

STAR MAN: Jay Rodriguez (5.9m)

Having gone goalless in the first two games, he will be looking to score in the absence of Robson-Kanu.

PREDICTION: West Brom 2-1 Stoke

Liverpool vs Arsenal

One of the biggest games of the gameweek, with two teams who haven’t been too resolute in defense thus far. Liverpool are on the back of a victory over Palace, although not very convincing, whereas in contrast are the Gunners who lost to the Potters away from home. This fixture has a history of producing many goals so be ready for some thrilling goal mouth action.

STAR MAN: Mesut Ozil (9.5m)

Ozil currently holds top spot for most chances created in the league and it’s about time someone converts these chances into goals, which makes him an important player for this game.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 2-3 Arsenal

Tottenham vs Burnley

Spurs come into this fixture on the back of a defeat in the London derby at Wembley. Pochettino and his boys will be looking to bounce back at their new home ground, and what better fixture could they have to do so. A massive Spurs victory seems to be on the cards.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (12.5m)

This is the day he ends his jinx of not scoring in the month of August.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-0 Burnley
