Goalkeeper

Angus Gunn – Southampton continued their unbeaten run against Brighton, with their last loss being in 1981! Gunn managed a spot in the gameweek 3 Dreamteam with an unusually low score of 7 points, with a clean sheet and 1 save point after he made 3 saves against Brighton.

Defenders

Patrick van Aanholt – With Manchester United equalising in the 89th minute, it looked like the fixture was heading for a draw, but van Aanholt had other ideas and bagged a late winner in the 93rd minute. This goal, coupled with two bonus points meant that van Aanholt picked up a double digit point haul, scoring 10 and earning himself a spot in the dreamteam.

Bjorn Engels – Aston Villa ended a run of 15 Premier League games without a victory, with a 2-0 win over Everton. With a clean sheet and 3 bonus points, Engels made his way into the gameweek 3 Dreamteam, rewarding the 0.3% of Fantasy Premier League managers that own him!

Jannik Vestergaard – Southampton managed to keep Brighton at bay in a 2-0 victory, which meant that Vestergaard picked up 4 points for a clean sheet. It was the 3 bonus points that he won that secured him a spot in this week’s dreamteam and a 9 point return for the 0.2% of FPL managers that own him!

Midfielders

Mohamed Salah – Owned by a massive 41.0% of managers, Mo Salah repaid those that remained faithful to him, as he was shipped out of 398,638 FPL teams ahead of gameweek 3. Salah managed to score his second double digit haul in just 3 gameweeks, scoring 15 after bagging a brace against the Gunners in a 3-1 victory at Anfield.

Nathan Redmond – Goals from Redmond and Djenepo secured a 2-0 victory over a 10 man Brighton in gameweek 3, but it was Redmond who made it into the dreamteam with the midfielder securing 2 bonus points and a total of 10 points.

David Silva – Silva made his 400th Manchester City appearance against Bournemouth and he showcased his talent with 2 assists against the Cherries. One of these assists was for Sergio Aguero, with the duo having combined on 27 occasions, being the third highest duo in Premier League history.

Mark Noble – With the introduction of VAR, many thought there would be an increase in penalties and this gameweek it was the turn of West Ham’s ever reliable penalty taker, Noble to score from the spot. His finish means that only Shearer, Gerrard and Lampard have scored more than him in the Premier League from the spot.

Sebastian Haller – West Ham’s new forward scored twice in the Hammers’ 1-3 victory over Watford, whilst also being the player with the most shots on target during the gameweek. With Norwich and Aston Villa in the next two gameweeks, we could see his ownership of 3.4% rise in the coming days.

Sergio Aguero – The Argentine was the fifth highest picked captain ahead of gameweek 3, with 403,453 managers giving the forward the armband. Similar to Haller, Aguero scored 2 goals in their 1-3 victory over Bournemouth, securing fantasy managers 13 points.
