Gameweek 6 FPL Review – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 6 saw Manchester City continue to impress with a fine victory over Crystal Palace. With that said, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool also secured 3 points, keeping up the pressure on the Citizens. In the Fantasy Premier League, we saw Morata hit 17 points, whilst Harry Kane punished those who took him out with a brace and 13 points. Here is the Gameweek 6 FPL Review:

Gameweek 6 Dream Team

Goalkeeper

Matthew Ryan – Brighton managed to keep Newcastle out in a hard fought 1-0 home victory. Ryan managed to make 5 saves (1 away from an extra point!), helping keep the clean sheet, which earned the keeper of the week 2 bonus points and a solid 9 points.

Defence

Cesar Azpilicueta – Chelsea’s full back finished gameweek 6 as the highest scoring defender with 14 Fantasy Premier League points. With a clean sheet, 2 assists and 2 bonus points, Azpilicueta rewarded 11% of managers that own him. The Spanish full back now has 4 assists this season and is looking to be the better fantasy prospect out of The Blues’ full backs (Alonso).

Christopher Schindler – Huddersfield now sit 7th in the Premier League with 9 points, which is more than respectable, with many tipping them to go straight back down this season. The Terriers have only lost one game, which is a testament to the side’s defensive capabilities and this week it was Schindler who managed to pick up a spot in the FPL dream team with a clean sheet and 3 bonus points.

Phil Jones – Sitting in second place, undefeated, Manchester United are only second due to goal difference. Both City and United have only conceded 2 goals, which is the joint best record in the league. That said, Manchester United have had 5 clean sheets, compared to City’s 4, making some form of Manchester defensive cover a must. This week, Phil Jones managed to make it into the dream team with 9 points, matching Schindler’s clean sheet and 3 bonus points.

Midfielders

Leroy Sane – The first of 3 Man City midfielders in this week’s fantasy dream team is Leroy Sane, who managed to pick up 3 bonus points, assist 2 and score 1! City have looked brilliant this season, with their last 3 results being 5-0, 0-6 and 5-0. In the first 2, Sane only played 45 minutes in total but still managed to rack up 14 points across the two games. This week, he bettered this, scoring 16 in the full 90 minutes.

Raheem Sterling – Just like Sane, Sterling was part of the 5-0 demolition of West Brom, but he only managed to feature for 60 minutes. That said however, the pacey Englishman managed to find the back of the net on 2 occassions, rewarding 4% of FPL managers with an impressive total of 13 points.

Philippe Coutinho – Matching Sterling’s haul of 13 points is former teammate, Philippe Coutinho. Arguably Liverpool’s best player, he only featured for 78 minutes in the Red’s opening 5 fixtures and this gameweek he only played for 78 minutes again. However, the Brazilian scored and assisted in Liverpool’s 2-3 defeat of Leicester and with just 4% ownership, Coutinho could be one to watch over the coming weeks.

David Silva – The third and final Man City midfielder in this week’s dream team is Spaniard, David Silva, who scored a respectable 11 points. Not only did this earn him a spot in the gameweek dream team, but FPL managers transferring him in gave him a price increase Monday morning! Silva managed to pick up 2 assists in the game against Palace, which means he is now top of the assists (6) table!

Forwards

Alvaro Morata – The highest scoring player this week was Chelsea forward, Morata. Bagging his first Premier League hat-trick, just 6 games into his Premier League career, just shows how much potential the young Spaniard has. Now owned by 20% of fantasy managers (increasing), Morata has scored 48 points this season (17 for gameweek 6), averaging 8 points each gameweek.

Harry Kane – Many shipped HurriKane out of their teams for the in-form Sergio Aguero, but how he punished those FPL managers as he found the back of the net twice as Spurs went on to defeat West Ham 2-3. Not only did he score twice, but he also picked up 3 bonus points, making it an impressive 13 points, rewarding the 682,950 who captained him.

Alexandre Lacazette – Arsenal’s new forward found the back of the net at the Emirates twice this gameweek with a goal from open play and a goal from the spot. Lacazette’s brace earned the Premier League new boy 13 FPL points, which was welcomed by the 529,091 fantasy managers who captained him.
