Crystal Palace – Fantasy Football Potential – FPL Tips

The FA Cup finalists go into this season hoping for a better showing in the league after starting so well and then flirting with relegation. Crystal Palace have made some very good signings so far. Adding international goalkeeper Steve Mandanda for pennies to the squad is a real coup! English winger Andros Townsend, still only 25 years old was a real quality signing and will certainly add value, goals and strength in depth to the Eagles. The south London club also raided West Ham for their 27 year old defender James Tomkins who will slot in perfectly alongside Scott Dann.

These are all quality signings not only because of their experience and track records but the fact that two of them are already Premier League veterans and that will undoubtedly help the cause. Pardew took Crystal Palace to America for a pre-season tour and to date they are unbeaten! With quite a few players still not with the squad because of Euro 2016 too.

STAR MAN – Yannick Bolasie (6.0m)

If Palace can keep hold of the winger the squad will benefit hugely.with Townsend on the scene and will be pushing all of Zaha, Bolasie and Sako for a starting berth he will only get better. He can produce something out of nothing. Watch his feet, you will lose the ball. He moves so fast and is so unpredictable certain defenders have come out and said he was the most difficult player to play against. He has started to sort his shooting out and could be deployed in the middle as he was last season. A midfielder classed in FPL played Out of position, what more could you want. He scored 5 goals in 26 appearances last season.

HIDDEN GEM – Jason Puncheon (5.5m)

He may not have scored many last season, but you could see Palace layer a lot better with him in the team. He can pick a pass, hard working, passionate and nearly won the FA Cup with his goal. Having found his goal scoring boots at the end of the season hopefully he can continue it into this one. He has generally scored between 5-8 goals each season he has been in the Premier League. Now one of the more experienced players and a Pardew favourite I expect him to keep scoring those fantasy points to stay on the first page of fantasy midfielders.

BARGAIN OPTION – Steve Mandanda (4.5m)

He will be certain to start once he returns from his break after Euro 2016. He has a fantastic record and will most certainly save some points in matches for the Eagles, leading to points for your fantasy teams. He will shore up the back and clean sheets will become more possible. At such a price you can have him as a second keeper in your teams too. If you’d prefer an outfield player then Pape Souare will be the one you will need at just £4.5million

Crystal Palace should have a great season and top ten is more than achievable!
