Hull City – Fantasy Football Potential – FPL Tips

Hull City are faced with a challenge back in the Premier League, after securing promotion through the play-offs. They start the season unsettled, having a small squad with some crucial injuries and Steve Bruce has been linked with the England job. They produced consistent performances in their home games last season, but will struggle to break down their early home opponents this time round, with fixtures against; Leicester City, Manchester United and Arsenal.

With that being said, Hull City do have some easier away games on the horizon with Swansea and Burnley first up. The Tigers are unlikely to spend big in the transfer window, but will need to bring in some new players to strengthen their squad. The main question on most minds however is who to bring into your fantasy football teams?

STAR MAN – Abel Hernández (6.0m)

The Uruguayan had a great season in the Championship for Hull City, with 21 goals and a couple of assists. He is likely to line up as the lone striker in a 4-4-1-1 and will be on penalty kicks. He averaged over 3 shots per game last season and with 1.12 chances created per game, showing he is capable of improving his assist tally. He will need to be more clinical than his Premier League performances in the 2014/15 season, with a mere 4 goals and 1 assist. He could be the 3rd striker for your front lines and will be looking to continue with his goal-scoring form.

HIDDEN GEM – Mohamed Diamé (5.5m)

There were a few options here with the rest of the squad all under 5.5m. Snodgrass at 5.5m and Robertson at 4.5m are wise picks. The stand out option though has to be Mo Diamé, with his proven track record in the top flight. He plays as the No. 10 and has the biggest goal threat across the midfield, with 10 goals last season. He got off to a flier in the 2014/15 Premier League campaign, scoring 4 goals in his first 6 matches, before he picked up a knee injury which ended his season. He would make a great choice as your budget 5th midfielder.

BARGAIN OPTION – Eldin Jakupovic (4.0m)

If you are looking for a 4.0m starting goalkeeper as your backup keeper, then Jakupovic is your man. The Tigers first choice keeper McGregor is out until January with a back injury, so Eldin looks certain to start. He has some league experience with three appearances and a clean sheet during the 2014/15 season. He’s unlikely to keep many clean sheets, but should rake in the save points and will be a popular choice due to his price at the start of the season.
