Fantasy Football is back after a long summer break with the Euro’s and Copa America. The 2016/17 Premier League season could be the most exciting and difficult season yet. With multiple teams competing for the title, and one of the favorites to win the league is definitely Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola coming in to replace Manuel Pellegrini, also with the signings of Nolito (9.0m), Gundogan (5.5m) and possibly other signings happening before deadline day. So who do you bring into your fantasy football team from Manchester City?
STAR MAN – Sergio Aguero (13.0m)
What is there to say, other than that Sergio Aguero is a world-class player and one the best in the world. He is the highest priced player on FPL for a reason, he scores goals for fun and is a must have player on FPL. Even with an injury prone season Aguero was able to score 17 goals for Manchester City. Points are almost a guarantee with Sergio Aguero, he is always a safe choice as captain of your FPL squad. Most FPL managers will have Sergio in their squads and if do not include him in yours you will suffer the consequences. The only downsides are that he is injury prone, so you should probably save your FTs just incase he does get injured. Even if he does get injured you can replace him with any player you want because there is no player priced higher than Sergio Aguero. If he does not get injured he is almost guaranteed to score 20+ goals a season.
HIDDEN GEM – Kelechi Iheanacho (7.0m)
Kelechi showed how good he was last season. He was able to score 14 goals in all competitions including 8 goals in the Premier League. Manchester City only has 3 forwards (as of now) and Kelechi could get some starts and be a good differential. The three forwards are Aguero, Bony, and Kelechi, but here is where it gets interesting. Aguero does occasionally play the “number 10” role which leaves only two options for Pep, and could likely favor Iheanacho over Bony. Also Aguero is injury prone which would give Kelechi more chances to shine. Also he most likely will not be picked by many he would definitely be a hidden gem.
BARGAIN OPTION – Pablo Zabaleta (5.0m)
Pablo Zabaleta is the cheapest player in the Manchester City squad on FPL. Having a Man City defender for 5.0 is a steal as they usually get multiple clean sheets. While only facing competition from Bacary Sagna, Pablo could be first choice right back. Although it is not clear yet who is the first choice yet with the new manager coming in. During last season they rotated, but that is not clear yet whether Zabaleta is first choice or Sagna, and if Zabaleta (who is priced at 5.9) is first choice he definitely a bargain.
