Manchester United – Fantasy Football Potential – FPL Tips

After one of the most unpredictable of seasons, which many referred to as the ‘Season of the Underdogs’ , Fantasy Premier League is back. Many people might be saying Saturday 13th of August but, for fantasy football managers, the season starts here. After last seasons dismal performances and the critics thrashing Van Gaal, the change in management seemed evident for Manchester United.

But, can Jose get United to win the title? Can they break into the top 4? Will all these players click together? Well only time will tell! All we know for sure is this United team provides many options for investment and this season is sure to be a cracker. So here’s a little sneak peek of the Manchester United Team.

STAR MAN – Zlatan Ibrahimovic (11.5m)

A goal machine, a fighter and more importantly a winner! The fiery hot Swedish striker is a man who needs no introduction. Zlatan is just like wine, the older the better! He has scored 30+ goals in each of the last 4 season, along with his career high of 50 goals in the very last season, proving it time and time again that age is just a number. Although he is a new face to the Premier League, he definitely plans to take England by a storm, as he proclaimed himself to become the ‘God of Manchester’ in the times to come. Moreover after his reunion with his long lost favourite coach, Jose Mourinho, we can definitely see him reaching great heights in England and helping Manchester United along the way to end the campaign on a strong note.

HIDDEN GEM – Wayne Rooney (9.0m)

For me a hidden gem is a player who racks up a fair amount of points over the season, playing decently well, but his contributions still go unnoticed. The player to take a punt on.

The perfect description for a man like Wayne Rooney, the person who has been the anchor in midfield under Van Gaal in the last campaign, one of the major reasons Man United had one of the best defences in the league, but still gone unnoticed simply because the lack of goals, or should I say the lack of fantasy football points. Jose in this campaign vows to play the Englishman in a more attacking role and with Jose having a background of getting the best out of his attacking midfielders, Wayne will surely want to keep his last 2 goal shy seasons behind and start a fresh, aiming to reach the same heights he did a few years ago, making him the perfect hidden gem at Manchester United.

BARGAIN OPTION – David de Gea (5.5m)

David De Gea, the name is just enough! The Spaniard is the only player who has been performing to full potential at Manchester United over the past 3 seasons and has been duly recognised for it as he bagged the ‘Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year Award’ for the 3rd consecutive time last season. Being just a 25 year old, he is a complete package, from great diving ability, to out of this world reflexes. He is undoubtedly the Best goalkeeper in the Premier League and is definitely a steal at a mere 5.5m.
