Manchester United – FPL Potential – Fantasy Football Tips

After a one horse show in the Premier League last season and nearly 2 months of detoxification, Fantasy Premier League is finally back. Many people might be saying Friday, the 11th of August, but for Fantasy Premier League managers, the season starts here. Mourinho’s Manchester United had a successful campaign last time around, lifting 2 trophies in a year, namely the Capital One Cup and Europa League, thereby securing a Champions League place along the way at the expense of a 5th place finish in the league.

Undoubtedly Manchester United has performed below par in the league and due to a number of lacklustre performances many have even questioned Mourinho’s credentials at United. So some the questions still remain unanswered; Can Jose get United to win the title? Can they break into the top 4? Will all these players click together? Well, only time will tell!

All we know for sure is this United team provides many options for investment and with the squad Mourinho is assembling, this season is bound to be a cracker. So without further ado, here’s a little sneak peek of the Manchester United team.

STAR MAN – Romelu Lukaku (11.5m)

Jose Mourinho seems to have found the true heir to Zlatan’s No. 9 shirt in Romelu Lukaku, as the Belgian is finally reunited with his former boss in a deal valuing around £75 million. Lukaku had been phenomenal in front of goal in his very last campaign with Everton, as he was a part of 31 of Everton’s 62 goals in the league, scoring 25 and assisting 6, resulting in a mammoth 221 FPL points. Priced at 11.5m, he looks to be the perfect Mourinho striker, with both pace and strength in his locker. Moreover, with the likes of Pogba and Mkhitaryan right behind him, he looks certain to repeat the feat he achieved last season and who knows, he might even better it. With years on his side and ample Premier League experience, he seems to be a perfect signing for Manchester United who can hit the ground running, potentially leading United’s line for years to come.

HIDDEN GEM – Jesse Lingard (6.0m)

Lingard may not be a confirmed starter in the team, but priced at 6.0m he might fit the slot for your cheap midfield option. Having had a decent last season and a good pre-season until now, he seems to be set to get you those important midfield points at such a low price. If he starts regularly for this United team, he might just be the man to look upon in case you have a tight budget.

Bargain – Paul Pogba (8.0m)

When FPL managers hear the word bargain they usually think or look for a price below 7.0m when searching for options for their midfield. But as far as I am concerned a bargain option generally is someone who is packed with quality and yet is priced somewhat below the expected, yet gives you the confidence of getting you points week after week. When you look at a player of Pogba’s calibre priced at the 8.0m mark, this man is a must for one of your four main midfielders. With his endurance, Mourinho might consider playing him further up the pitch which might not just benefit him picking up more goals, but also gives him more of a chance to pick up more assists. He is the perfect bargain in this Manchester United team and is sure to catch the eyes of many. So, get him while he’s cheap.

PREDICTED LINE-UP

De Gea
Valencia – Bailly – Lindelof – Darmian
Pogba – Carrick – Herrera
Mkhitaryan – Lukaku – Martial
