Aaron Mooy – Fantasy Premier League Potential

Huddersfield Town have made a potential exciting Fantasy Premier League signing in the form of Aaron Mooy from Manchester City after a loan spell in their 2016/17 Championship season. The fee is an £8 million deal which could eventually rise to £10 million with add-ons. This signing is the Terriers record signing for the Australian international.

Manager David Wagner had this to say about his new midfielder, Aaron Mooy:

“Everybody who watched our team in our promotion season knows how huge it is to have Aaron back at the club as we enter the Premier League for the first time. I’m sure our fans will be very happy to see him back. As I said many times last season, Aaron was the heart of our team. When he played well, we usually played well – and won”

Fantasy Football Potential

As I mentioned above Aaron Mooy will be an exciting addition to FPL for the 2017/18 season. The 26 year old Centre midfielder was pulling the strings for Huddersfield in the championship making a total of 46 appearances grabbing him-self 4 goals in the meantime. Aaron Mooy had a passing percentage of 83% and had 98 chances created last season, showing he can provide a depth of balance for the Terriers in the middle of the pitch.

Physicality wise Mooy is an engine, a real grafter both attacking and defending. Picking up a total of 6 yellow cards with 46% of his duels won he can certainly guarantee to be a tough opponent to come up against. Aaron Mooy will potentially be priced in the region of 6.0m as a starting XI player for Huddersfield, he is almost guaranteed to start if fit. If Mooy can improve on his goal scoring he could be a real coup.

Huddersfield Town opening fixtures are as follows: Crystal Palace (A), Newcastle United (H), Southampton (H), West Ham (A) and Leicester City (H). Town will look to capitalise on home fixtures but will all be tough opponents for the newly promoted side.
