Fantasy Football Potential – Georges-Kevin Nkoudou

Burnley have signed Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou on loan until the end of the season. The Frenchman has failed to make an impact at Spurs since joining the club in the summer of 2016, which has lead to him seeking game time elsewhere.

Nkoudou played just 54 minutes of Premier League football last season across 8 games, failing to score or assist in all of them. In his first two games for Burnley he came on from the bench both times and has already accumulated two thirds of the game time he endured last campaign.

Nkoudou has been quoted saying:

“When I spoke with Trippier he told me good things about this club, about the players and everything about Burnley. I am happy to be here, so thank-you Trippier, I think it’s a big opportunity to play my first minutes this season in the Premier League.”

Nkoudou has dropped to a price of 5.4m due to the lack of game time but will still not be on many FPL managers’ radars because he hasn’t cemented a place in Sean Dyche’s starting eleven. When he made the move for Nkoudou, it looked like he’d fill the hole left by Robbie Brady after his horrific injury.

However this wasn’t the case and Dyche has insisted on playing Ashley Barnes on wing and utilise Nkoudou as an impact player. If he can get a run in the team then he could become a decent option as he must have talent which persuaded Mauricio Pochettino to spend a decent amount of money on him.

Burnley’s next five fixtures are as follows: Newcastle (A), Man City (H), Swansea (A), Southampton (H) and Everton (H). Aside from the obvious difficult match against the runaway league leaders, they’re all winnable and Nkoudou could flourish if given the opportunity.
