Fantasy Football Potential – Grzegorz Kyrchowiak

West Bromwich Albion have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Grzegorz Kyrchowiak from Paris Saint German, on a loan deal until the end of the season. The Polish defensive midfielder joins the Baggies after failing to make an impact at the French side.

Before PSG, Grzegorz Kyrchowiak was playing his football in Spain at Sevilla where he played exceptionally well, which secured him his move to France in 2016. However he played just 11 times in Ligue 1 meaning he has had to look elsewhere for first team football.

Here’s what Grzegorz Kyrchowiak had to say about his move;

“I had a lot of propositions from Spain and Italy. But this is a very ambitious club. There’s a good atmosphere here,”

Fantasy Football Potential

Krychowiak has been priced at 5.0m which in my opinion makes him very difficult to own. He plays predominantly in defensive midfield and considering the formation Tony Pulis likes to play, I don’t believe Krychowiak will get into the opposition’s box too often.

The 27 year old has an impressive 45 caps for Poland, scoring twice in the process. He isn’t renowned for his goalscoring ability at any clubs he has played football at. In his 179 career appearances he has grabbed just 13 goals.

West Brom’s next five fixtures are as follows: Brighton (A), West Ham (H), Arsenal (A), Watford (H) and Leicester (A). The favourable fixtures continue to come for the Baggies, which could lead to a good start for Krychowiak in his first Premier League outings.
