Gameweek 27 Captaincy Analysis – Fantasy Football Tips

After what was the longest gameweek every we are now looking down the barrel of gameweek 27. The deadline is as always, fast approaching, but before we look at this weeks captaincy picks, here’s a breakdown of how last weeks picks did:

1. Mohamed Salah – 3 points
2. Sergio Aguero – 2 points
3. Heung-Min Son – 13 points
Differential – Gabriel Martinelli – 0 points
Gamble – Jamie Vardy – 2 points

Fingers crossed for even better returns this week, here’s our top picks for the up coming gameweek:

1. Mohamed Salah (WHU)

Liverpool don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon! They’ve extended their unbeaten run now and Salah is on 20 goals and assists for the season, a tremendous record for someone who is apparently not doing so well! I’m not too sure if Mane will be starting this week, hence why I’ve decided for Salah as the number one option this week. I can’t see them struggling against West Ham, who looked awful last week against Man City, and I can definitely see Salah getting on the scoresheet!

2. Richarlison (ARS)

In my opinion, one of the most underrated players in the league by far. The work that he puts into that Everton side, both offensively and defensively, is outstanding, and deserves a lot more credit. His goal was terrific, and was unlucky not to get a brace after hitting the bar with a sensational header. He’s really starting to become a consistent player, which is key for him as it was a big critique about him. They take on Arsenal after a week break, while Arsenal come off a Europa League game on Thursday, a refreshed Richarlison against that Arsenal defence may spell trouble!

3. Kevin De Bruyne (LEI)

Less of a controversial opinion, but De Bruyne is most certainly been the best player this season. He’s scored 8 goals and assisted 18 times this season, which is absolutely terrific for this time of the season, he’s currently providing a goal or an assist every 79 minutes! On paper, Man City’s game against Leicester may look to be a tough game, but Leicester have only kept two clean sheets since gameweek 15, quite surprising! With the form that De Bruyne is in, you’ve got to fancy him adding to his tally this week, despite Leicester’s impressive season!

Differential – Steven Bergwijn (CHE)

No Heung Min Son or Harry Kane for the next few weeks means that Spurs desperately need a player to step up for them to get Champions League this season, and I think Bergwijn is the man. He started amazingly well after getting the goal on his league debut, and with those two big injuries, I think he’ll be playing a bit more forward than normal. Like with Leicester, Chelsea (their opponents) have only kept two clean sheets since gameweek 12, and with this being a huge game in the Champions League race, I think Bergwijn may have a brilliant game!

Gamble – Anthony Martial (WAT)

Two questions: What Man United side will turn up against Watford, and also what Martial will turn up as well? Man United seemingly play amazingly well against the big sides, but then crumble and do nothing against teams lower than them in the table, bizarre! Martial scored last week and also scored in the midweek game in the Europa League, but it ended a huge run of games where united risked to score, not just Martial. They looked really good against Chelsea, but it’s a risk to captain him because of how inconsistent they are!
