Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 16 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 15 was another tricky gameweek for captaincy selections, as popular FPL picks such as Sanchez and Hazard struggled to score too many points, whilst Lukaku punished all those who sold him with a brace against Watford.

Before we look on to this week’s captaincy analysis, here is how last week’s picks did:

1. Diego Costa – 8 points
2. Alexis Sanchez – 5 points
3. Harry Kane – 2 points
Differential – Kelechi Iheanacho – 1 point
Gamble – Gylfi Sigurdsson – 13 points

Now onto this week’s selections:

1. Diego Costa (SUN)

The Chelsea frontman is a transformed player this campaign; his winner at home to West Brom was his 12th goal of the campaign which equalled his tally from all of last season. Costa is a handful and is currently a defenders worst nightmare. Chelsea’s entire side is a class above the standard set by Mourinho last season and it is really showing in the service to the big Spaniard. Hazard & co have really made it easy for Costa and you can’t see Conte’s men losing at Sunderland on Wednesday. Probably the standout option this week.

2. Harry Kane (HUL)

The Spurs frontman has not reached the dizzying heights of previous seasons but has a respectable 7 goals to his name. The big draw to Kane this week is the fixture. Hull have been putting some decent stuff together but are still lacking that killer quality. Spurs have been slightly flat of late but are very tough to beat so should get back to winning ways at White Hart Lane on Wednesday. Kane, like any striker, will sense there’s goals in it for him so could well be up for it. An interesting option.

3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (CRY)

The Swede is back amongst the goals after a downturn in form previously and as a whole, he and the rest of the United side (if this isn’t too soon to say) look to have exited their horrendous run of form and looked impressive in their win over Tottenham on Sunday. Mourinho’s men must quickly regroup as they face Crystal Palace on Wednesday and this is a fixture United will surely relish given the recent form and Palace’s defensive shortcomings. Ibrahimovic has established himself as the centre forward at United so will definitely have opportunities to add to his 8 league goals. With Aguero out, it is possible to fit him into your team. Slightly inconsistent but definitely viable.

Differential – Dimitri Payet (BUR)

Last season’s must have hasn’t delivered on a consistent basis this year but his free kick at Anfield should serve as a reminder of his ability. West Ham were slightly better on Sunday which will be good preparation for hosting an inconsistent Burnley side on Wednesday night. His ownership is far lower than other high class midfielders so could be a good option for your mini league position. Not a guaranteed points scorer but a good option nonetheless.

Gamble – Alexis Sanchez (EVE)

The Chilean could easily occupy any of the slots in this week’s analysis but down to the plethora of quality options and despite Everton’s awful form, the Chilean does carry some risk due to the difficulty of fixture on paper. Arsenal are on fire lately and will probably turn Everton over in a similar fashion. However, even though Everton are underperforming, they do have an unbeaten home record so Arsenal may not have it their own way on Tuesday. A quality option but not without a risk.

Thanks for reading and good luck! The deadline is Tuesday at 18:45 (GMT).
