Captaincy Analysis – Game-week 6

With Game-week 5 done and dusted, here is how last weeks captaincy picks did:

Pick 1 – Angel Di Maria – 11 points
Pick 2 – Diego Costa – 1 point
The Differential – Remy Cabella – 1 point
The Gamble – Mario Balotelli – 4 points

So, our number 1 pick did very well, with the others not so much. Now we all look towards Game-week 6 and who to captain this time around. Our choices are:

1. Diego Costa (AVL)

Even though the Spaniard was kept from scoring against Manchester City, this was due to some top draw defending from both Kompany and Mangala. This is unlikely to be the case against Aston Villa, with all due respect to their back 4, as they’re arguably not at the same level as the City defence who kept Costa at bay. If Costa does find space, he will punish any team.

2. Angel Di Maria (WHU)

Even though Manchester United are losing, the Argentine play-maker still manages to pick up points. If United started to perform at the level that they are capable of, Di Maria could bring in some serious points and lets hope this starts this game-week.

Differential – Graziano Pelle (QPR)

Southampton’s new signing has adapted well to the Premier League, scoring 3 goals and assisting another in his first 5 games. Pelle could extend this record here against a defence that is leaking goals, 11 in their first 5 games to be precise.

Gamble – Emmanuel Adebayor (ARS)

Adebayor has history with both Tottenham and Arsenal and with the North London derby this weekend, could he be involved heavily? Granted, this would be a huge gamble but Adebayor does love a goal in these big games. Could he do it again?
