Gameweek 20 Preview

Another gameweek is already upon us! Happy New Year to all, here is our gameweek preview:

Stoke vs. United

Stoke v Man United

The Potters have had an excellent festive period and so much so they have secured a top ten finish at this halfway stage of the season and will have to play at their best against a Manchester United side who are struggling for points away from home.

STAR MAN – Juan MATA

Mata has been in sensational form and every United attack always stems from one of his killer passes, unless he scores the goal himself.

Villa vs. Palace

Aston Villa v Crystal Palace

It has been a rollercoaster ride so far for Crystal Palace and they go into this game with no first-team manager whereas Aston Villa’s main concern seems to be not being able to keep eleven players on the pitch, which will probably see this fixture end in stalemate.

STAR MAN – Julian SPERONI

One of the key players in their fantastic finish last season, Speroni had a clean sheet in his previous game and there should be no goal threat here.

Hull vs. Everton

Hull City v Everton

These two teams go into this game both desperate for a win, and both just cannot seem to stop losing for whatever reason, but the Tigers and the Toffees only recently met last month and played out a draw, so the same will probably happen.

STAR MAN – Ahmed ELMOHAMADY

This Hull City wingback is excellent at bombing forward and putting balls into the box, and his clean sheet threat should not be at risk too much either.

Liverpool vs. Leicester

Liverpool v Leicester City

Liverpool are starting to show some glimpses of the side that they were last season after impressive recent wins but Leicester will also be rather happy with the three points they gained in their recent match against Hull, but a home win is most probable.

STAR MAN – Adam LALLANA

Lallana was one of the key players of Fantasy Premier League last season, and he got two goals in his last game.

City vs. Sunderland

Manchester City v Sunderland

Manchester City were extremely disappointing in drawing at home to Burnley and this is not the best fixture that has come about for them as they always have trouble against Sunderland, but they should dominate this game.

STAR MAN – David SILVA

Silva is bringing an element of class to Manchester City and should be in the mix with the goals once more.

Newcastle vs. Burnley

Newcastle v Burnley

With Burnley gaining a point at the Etihad in their previous fixture, you would have thought that they could get the win here especially since Newcastle are probably rather unstable at the moment with Pardew set to leave.

STAR MAN – Ashley BARNES

This Burnley striker has three goals in his last four games and has been rather overlooked by many of us.

QPR vs. Swansea

QPR v Swansea

Swansea have had a little dip in form recently and this is perhaps a tough place to go looking for a win as Queens Park Rangers have been absolutely rampant at home this season and should get the three points once again.

STAR MAN – Charlie AUSTIN

You have just got to stick with this prolific English goal scorer, the third top scorer in the Premier League this season.

Southampton vs. Arsenal

Southampton v Arsenal

Ronald Koeman’s side have got back to their best with seven points out of a possible nine, whilst Arsenal have also begun to improve which has left these two sides level on points at the midway stage of the season.

STAR MAN – Santi CAZORLA

Cazorla has been playing brilliantly recently and he is also the man to take the shots from the penalty spot if necessary.

West Ham vs. WBA

West Ham v West Brom

If West Ham wants to be serious about their top four finish, they really need to up their game and romp home the victory here against a manager-less West Bromwich Albion side, so we would expect a home win.

STAR MAN – Winston REID

Reid is a fantastic goal threat from set pieces and his defensive record should not be too troubled here either.

Spurs vs. Chelsea

Tottenham v Chelsea

Spurs have put together a decent run and will see this as if anything a good time to play Chelsea as Mourinho’s men have struggled to pick up the wins away from home but it should probably be a feisty encounter.

STAR MAN – Eden HAZARD

This Belgian beauty has been a joy to watch and will be key in this game if Chelsea want to get all the points on offer.
