Gamweek 31 Captaincy Analysis

The international break and the wait for gameweek 31 is nearly over. As many of you know there is a double gameweek for QPR and Aston Villa this week, so bear this in mind when choosing your captaincy. Before we start looking at this weeks picks, let’s take a look at how our gameweek 30 picks did (quite well as it turns out!):

1. Harry Kane – 17 points

2. Diego Costa – 12 points

3. Olivier Giroud – 13 points

Gamble – Jordan Henderson – 2 points

Differential – Gabriel Agbonlahor – 2 points

Now turning our attention to this week…

1. Harry Kane (BUR)

Where to start? 19 league goals or scoring his first England goal within 90 seconds? Anyway the Tottenham frontman is the leagues form player right now and it would take a very brave man to bet against him adding to his tally against Burnley on Sunday. Certainly my captain this week!

2. Eden Hazard (STK)

The Belgian playmaker has had a decent season so fare and looks to be peaking at the right time, by scoring 21 points over the last 3 gameweeks. Chelsea face a home game against Stoke City on Saturday, with Hazard traditionally performing well at Stamford bridge he should be in your captaincy thoughts.

3. Charlie Austin (WBA & AVL)

For this Englishman, his form hasn’t been the best of late only scoring 9 points over the last 3 gameweeks. However, QPR have 2 games this week, first they travel to West Brom on Saturday and then they face Aston Villa on Tuesday. You would expect that QPR need to win at least 1 of these games to give them any chance of staying up. This means that Charlie Austin is a decent captaincy option.

Differential – Christian Benteke (MUN & QPR)

Another double gameweek player here. Villa play Manchester United and QPR in gameweek 31. Villa have been a different team since the arrival of Tim Sherwood and finally they look to be scoring goals. I think the Belgian striker will do very well this week.

Gamble – Sergio Aguero (CRY)

Aguero has been below his high standards of late and I’m sure the statistics will show many managers have lost faith with him and transferred him out of their teams. However, Manchester City play Crystal Palace on Monday night and on past fantasy football pedigree he has one last chance to perform, otherwise many more managers will look to replace the Argentine striker.

As always a huge thanks to you for reading our article, good luck this week!
